Total Wellness Transformation: The First Step...

Welcome to "Total Wellness Transformation: Diary Of A 50lb Weight Loss."

Carl has asked me to be a frequent guest blogger and chronicle my journey to improved overall health, which will include losing 50lbs within the next 12 months.

My name is Henry (you can call me Hank) and I’m just a regular guy in his 30's who wants to live, feel and look better.

Beachbody's stated core purpose is to “Help people achieve their goals and enjoy a healthy, fulfilling life. That means I am at the right place at the right time, surrounded by great resources to get on the right track. That also means that I might be able to rely on you, the reader, to give me comments and support as I embark on my public - but anonymous - journey.

I suppose I have the same struggles as you; finding balance between work and home, finding time for family and friends, finding motivation and the big one - avoiding long entrenched habits and the temptation of the short term gratification those habits offer.

In my blog posts, I’ll talk about milestones and setbacks, what changes I’m making, what works and what doesn’t. The highs and the lows…all on the road to total wellness and improved health.

I appreciate the opportunity to show Carl what role his company plays in my success. I also look forward to demonstrating in real terms what it takes to overcome a lifestyle that has led to a starting point of 376 lbs. I hope Carl and our Coaches can benefit from my journey.

I’ve struggled to change my thinking, to approach things differently and remind myself that this isn't going to happen overnight. I want to do this the right way, the smart way. For me, this isn’t about any fad diet, super Product or miracle workout – this is about a lifestyle change.

The whole point is to improve my overall quality of life, so learning to make smarter choices along the way is part of my journey. They say the journey of a lifetime begins with one step. So, here goes…step.

Love this idea! I'm very interested in following Hank's progress. I also like that he is looking to lose weight at a fairly slow rate so that he won't have a lot of negative side effects such as losing a lot of muscle, tons of hanging skin, etc. Very smart. :) Good luck to you, Hank! Will we be told soon what program(s) he plans on using?

Thanks for sharing this, Carl, and Hank! As a long-time customer of Beachbody (7 years), I'm always happy when someone new finds a home here. You can't beat the support and commitment to helping people find their way to healthier lifestyles. As a woman in my mid-thirties who has lost 66 lbs. over the last year and 1/2, I know the challenges, the triumphs, and the stumbling blocks we all face every day. Just know that there are people out here who support you, and if you ever need a shoulder to lean on, you can find me on facebook (Nicole Landry - West Boylston, MA). HAng in there, you'll do great!

Hank you have made the fist step to a fantastic new you! I am here if you need any support, you can find me also on face book (Chad Brandt, Lethbridge Alberta Canada).Remember to look for the positive in everything you do; eg. when finishing a workout, look for the bright spot like; man did I rock those Crouching Curls,I did 4 more reps than last time. Leaving with a positive thought will create success in all you do.
I am here to help brother, YOU can do it! I am excited for your new journey!

Hank, Congratulations on getting started. Believe that you have your own limitations and need to "listen to your body," as Tony Horton says. Setbacks will be temporary and less often if you keep your head. I've lost over 100 pounds in the past 15 weeks and know that you will get to your goal if you do what is right. I recommend Power 90 if you haven't chosen your program yet. And, of course, you have to get onto Shakeology. It's doing great for me. I know you'll do the same!

HANK!!! What an awesome opportunity that Carl has given you! I started my journey at 365lbs..and I chose Chalene Johnson and Turbo Jam! I lost 165 lbs and had the pleasure of actually filming an infomercial in NYC for Beachbody. It was such an incredible journey and has totally inspired me to start a new career!! I am now a beachbody coach and just starting to build my team.I have recently moved to Los Angeles CA to be close to those that inspire me. I am looking to leave a long career in the fashion and cosmetic industry to explore a career in fitness/nutrition and working with food addiction. The road ahead is going to be amazing---- at times hard but so worth EVERY step. The amazing opportunity you will have is to be able to share your journey from someone who has walked in the shoes! Easy for someone to give advice that has lived with 20 lbs to lose...but your thoughts and advice will be priceless...you will have personally fought the battle. I wish you all the luck in the world! You can find me on facebook as well: Laura Preston. Best of luck!
