Our P90X NFL-Poster Boy Is Still At It!

This article appeared on Philly.com today regarding David Akers... He kicked a 51-yarder last Sunday. We're still hoping he gets a crack at breaking the NFL record to kick a 64-yard field goal this year and we've promised to donate a million bucks to the Kicks for Kids Foundation.
=================================================================
Through it all, Eagles' Akers still kicking
By Ray Parrillo, Inquirer Staff Writer

David Akers spent his 34th birthday Tuesday visiting Children's Hospital as part of his Kicks for Kids Foundation, enjoying some rare free time with his family, and feeling pretty certain he wouldn't have to answer questions from the media suggesting his future as the Eagles' kicker was in jeopardy.

"I've tried this year not to pay attention to what's in the media," Akers said the other day. "So the only way I knew people were saying things was by the questions I was being asked."

In consecutive weeks this season, Akers missed field goals from 50-plus yards against Chicago, Washington and San Francisco, and also one against the Bears from 40-plus yards. The Eagles lost the Sept. 28 game in Chicago, 24-20. Last season, Akers was 1 for 4 from 50-plus yards and 1 for 6 from 40 to 49 yards.

Akers, the franchise's all-time-leading scorer, is in his 10th season with the Eagles. In his first eight, he'd made 59 percent from 50-plus yards and 72 percent between 40 and 49 yards.

On the misses earlier this season, leg strength wasn't the issue. But as Akers said, you are what the numbers say you are, and the numbers were saying his job wasn't as secure as it once was.

In Sunday's critical 20-14 win over the Giants, Akers offered a mixed bag. He kicked two field goals, one from 51 yards that gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead, another from 34 yards that raised their lead to 20-7 in the fourth quarter. Another try was blocked by Justin Tuck and returned 71 yards by Kevin Dockery for a touchdown at the end of the first half. Tuck beat reserve tackle Winston Justice on the play. Another was tipped. In nine seasons, Akers had one blocked field goal. This season, he's had three, two returned for TDs.

The bigger point is that Akers has reclaimed his status as a reliable kicker. The first block against the Giants ended a streak of 15 consecutive field goals, two shy of his team record. He is 6 for 7 from 40 to 49 yards, and he still has the leg strength to split the uprights from more than 50 yards.

In one season, Akers has gone from 2 for 10 from 40-plus yards to 7 for 11, a dramatic improvement.

Akers attributes his resurgence to an infomercial. Honest. The night before the Eagles played at Dallas last December, Akers saw an infomercial about a workout program called P90X, guaranteed to transform your body in 90 days through a rigorous training system that requires one hour a day.

Akers, a left-footed kicker, thought the program might solve a physical problem he was having with his right hip - the result, he believes, of a torn hamstring he suffered in 2005. It had become painful to plant his right leg before kicking.

"My hip was hurting," he said. "I wanted to lose weight and balance my body."

Akers spoke to Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder about the program, and Burkholder said that running back Ryan Moats had tried it. Akers went ahead with it during the off-season, shed 20 pounds - he's down to 180 - and reduced his body fat by 30 percent.

"After I tore my hamstring I never really regained the true flexibility in my right leg, and a lot of the power comes from your plant leg," he said. "I regained the flexibility, and I'd never before realized I needed to lose weight. I'd been 200 pounds. Now, I haven't been this light since my freshman year at Louisville. "Believe it or not, I saw it on an infomercial."

Akers looks back on the early-season misses and said the one he'd really like to have back is the one against Washington. "I look at the first two kicks in Chicago, and I aimed exactly where I wanted it to go," he said. "I misjudged how powerful the wind was when I kicked them. The next week against the Redskins, I felt like I pulled it just a little bit. I felt like I swung too hard on the ball. There aren't many days when I've hit 50 percent and felt I'd hit the ball really well. Then we had the block against the Niners, and we had the two blocks" against the Giants.

"I'm basically sure those two on Sunday would have gone through," he continued. "That makes up the six [missed] kicks and you say, 'Wow, that's six misses. But . . .' "

Akers went on to crunch the numbers. He figured the blocked kicks from 32 and 34 yards would have been good. If so, his percentage would be 87.5, above the league average of 84.8. Instead, it's 81.3.

"That being said, you are what your numbers say you are, and those numbers can be skewed for the good or the bad," he said. The numbers also say Akers can claim to be a better kicker than he was last year (75 percent) and two years ago (78.3), and that the things people are saying about him aren't so bad these days.

"I know one day my time will be up, and I don't want it to be right now," he said. "I want to play here as long as the Eagles organization will have me."

Remembering A Great One

One day in 1981 I was a senior walking down the halls of North Penn high school, wondering where I would go to college. A poster in the hallway caught my eye. It featured a guy with "Dutch Boy" length hair balancing a trombone, heavy texts, science equipment, a football, spirit banner, and a large silver 35MM film canister in his arms. He was truly loaded down and the message was clear: "This school was a great place to party!" OK, actually the message was: "This school had everything, including film and TV."

That poster brought Ithaca college to my attention, and lead me to enroll. Beachbody founding coach Dick Comanzo and All-American diving champion was they guy featured in that poster.

I was informed by friends that Dick passed away peacefully, from an inoperable brain tumor, on November 29, 2008, surrounded by friends and family. Throughout his courageous three-year fight with brain cancer, Dick’s spirit, optimism, love of friends and family and passion for living never ended. That includes his desire to help people get fit and healthy with the products that he helped make famous, especially the program that gave him this transformation, the original, Power 90.

Dick was an exceptional human being who had a profoundly positive, lasting impact on everyone he met. He had an extraordinary capacity to bring the best out in those around him, and he used that gift every day of his life. This was most evident during his courageous battle with illness. He always strove to be independent and self-sufficient, serving as an inspirational example of how one should face life’s obstacles. I know everyone says that about people when they cross-over, but in this case, Dick was a "poster boy" for facing life with positivity, hope, and an incredibly good attitude. He taught me much in that way.

I actually never knew Dick in college except for his image on that poster. But his commitment to getting back in shape with Power 90 in 2001 brought him back to my attention when he sent his success story in to be considered for the trip to Hawaii as a Power 90 success story. Once again, "SqueakyD" as he became known on the message boards, he was poster boy material and a star testimonial in our Power 90 infomercial.
Dick was very involved in the Southeast Brain Tumor Association and their annual Race for Research, raising awareness and donations for the fight against brain cancer. When he could no longer run or walk in the Race, he cheered his teammates from the sidelines.
Dick is survived by his son, Dean Comanzo; his partner of 14 years, Shawn Purcell; his parents Ralph and Gail Comanzo; his brother Douglas (Amy) Comanzo; his sisters, Diane (Michael) Jones; his special angel Amy Gail Comanzo; his grandmother, Ann M. Comanzo and his nieces and nephews: Nicole, Matthew, Timmy Comanzo and Daniel and Katie Jones.

A celebration of his remarkable life will be held at 3:00PM, Friday December 12th, at the Rich Auditorium-Woodruff Arts Center: 1280 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.

Dick’s family asks in lieu of memorials and or flowers that donations be sent in Honor of Dick Comanzo to the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation.

Dick, you will be missed by me and so many others, and in honor of your contribution to our lives, your example and inspiration will be celebrated for decades.

Kathy Smith's Project YOU! Type 2 is here!

Kathy Smith's "Project: YOU! Type 2", where we took Kathy's great fitness videos from the popular Project: YOU! program, and combined them with a complete system of eating and exercise to create the first program of its kind published in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association... And it is officially here! (It's still September right?)

Now instead of simply looking at prescription drugs and a pamphlet on "healthy living" for an alternative to living with Type 2 diabetes, people can now get the information they need to actively manage or prevent it with this revolutionary new program!

Doctors, certified diabetes educators, and the American Diabetes Association helped Kathy Smith and Beachbody develop Project: YOU! for Type 2. It is the first ALL-IN-ONE lifestyle approach to help manage diabetes, reduce your risk for diabetes complications, and get you back in control of your life!

This represents our commitment to health and fitness. Do we get people ripped with P90X? Yep. Do we help people lose weight fast with Slim in 6, Hip Hop Abs and Turbo Jam? You bet. And now, are we the one company with a solution to help people lose weight and avoid the crippling consequences of this terrible disease? You got that right!

This is a big deal. Tell your doctor. Tell your friends. Tell everyone who knows anyone... Now there is a solution that cost less than a month's worth of pills. Kathy Smith's Project YOU! for Type 2... and the revolution continues!

Forget Black Friday -- A Better Gift Idea

We had a very well-attended event in the Philadelphia area this weekend, including coaches from all over the North East and even as far away as Texas!

I am always so grateful to the people who attend these functions and bring such positive energy. I am especially grateful this time to my brother David and his employer, Byer's Choice, who provided the facility for us to meet. The Byer's family is one of the most philanthropic I have ever witnessed, and it shows in their hospitality to our Beachbody Coaches and prospects. For them to get involved with us means the Beachbody Revolution has been recognized by another group of people who truly care about helping people.

During the event, a coach asked about the best way to facilitate giving Beachbody products as gifts, perhaps through the use of gift certificates. We've avoided gift certificates because accounting for the cash is not simple within a network marketing comp plan. But in the meantime, we came up with an idea not to give products away, but to ask for others to get fit as their gift to you!

"Ask friends and family to exercise for at least 30 days starting in January as their gift to you this year."

Instead of writing out a Christmas list filled with more "stuff" that you want, tell people that the gift you want is something that will help you both:

(1) They purchase a fitness program from your coach website - for THEMSELVES.
(2) You earn the commission on it
(3) They promise to follow it for at least 30 days.

Everybody wins, and it's the kind of gift that doesn't get forgotten or taken for granted.

This is people working together. This is a gift that pays you both dividends all year. What other gift can enhance and add energy to your relationship, and make people feel good about helping you and helping their own health in the spirit of keeping their holiday promise? This is it!

This would be a great occasion to sign up to host a ChaLEAN Extreme Launch Party and invite family members. Helping them add muscle to build their metabolisms back up in 2009 can be the gift you all give each other - starting with the Launch Party January 3rd.

And don't forget to subscribe to the Tony Horton One-On-One series as a gift to yourself! Here's an image from that DVD I was talking about a few weeks ago. It's only available to December subscribers of the series.

PEOPLE MAGAZINE

P90X does it again!

Here's the story of Without a Trace's Poppy Montgomery, as seen in People Magazine. I love it when stars, who can have anything given to them with a phone call, see P90X on TV and buy it for themselves. There's proof it's the real deal, and that there are no freebies! Everybody has to work for it!

Poppy Montgomery was always open about the 70-pound weight gain that occurred during her pregnancy last year with son Jackson Phillip Deveraux, now 10 ½ months old. "I ate with no guilt!" the Without a Trace star tells PEOPLE. "I loved every second of gaining that weight. All that food made me so happy!"

Though giving in to cravings for avocados or Häagen-Dazs Dulce de Leche ice cream was fun, Poppy, 36, knew that she'd have to return to camera-ready form eventually. So three weeks after giving birth to Jackson, the actress signed up for meal-delivery service Sunfare, which restricted her diet to 1,200 calories per day. She exercised at home six days per week using the P90X total-body workout DVD program, and by this past September, she was back in her size 27 jeans. "All the hard work paid off," she shares. "It was hard, but worth it."

Jackson, whom Poppy describes as the "happiest baby ever" is the first child for the actress and her boyfriend, actor Adam Kaufman. Poppy's show, Without a Trace, airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. on CBS.

Collector's Alert: A Beachbody First!

While subscribers are receiving Tony Horton's 1-on-1 this month, his soft and fluffy “Upper Body Massacre”, the biggest 1-on-1 anticipation is building for next month’s issue: “The Fountain Of Youth”

Tony put together an incredible hour of yoga, exclusively for the 1-on-1 program, and I think it’s one of his best DVD’s in the first volume.

But that's not what the hubbub is about... That disc will be shipped with another DVD, a first-of-its-kind Beachbody collector’s special for the holidays! Remember how the Beatles used to put out a special holiday message record for fans and collectors? That’s what this is, but Tony is the Beatles, and a little light-hearted fitness is the message.)

“Holiday Horton” and his two little helpers are shooting a special holiday-themed Ten Minute Trainer workout for December 1-on-1 subscribers only! It won’t be available for sale separately. It won’t be available after December. It will be shipped with the December “Fountain of Youth” yoga 1-on-1 shipment to subscribers.

So if you're a subscriber and you enjoy a little exclusivity, you'll love this holiday special.

Until then, enjoy the Upper Body Massacre (if that’s possible) and get ready for one of the most exciting months in the 1-on-1 series!

Lazyman's Loophole

I have been trying to get my morning workouts going since Danny was born and sleep routines got all crazy... I think I found the loophole which worked for me this morning!

Since we got back the hour of sleep Saturday night, my body clock is still on daylight savings time. That means I have what it takes to workout at 5AM -- which feels like 6AM!

I've got one in the bag, so I am going for another Tuesday morning. If you can make it, I'll see you there!

Plan for New Years, NOW!

This post is about you taking "just enough" action to become a coach and making sure that you are part of the revolution as a coach who can get fit and earn; not just a spectator watching everyone else.

For some, becoming a Beachbody Coach can look intimidating. They are the people that usually watch opportunity pass them by. They cruise around social networking sites and see a ton of other coaches milling around the same groups and think that it's going to be hard to compete in a crowded marketplace.

First - it just isn't crowded. Second - You won't find out unless you sign up and see that it only takes a little effort to see things start to happen.

Right now we have less than 14,000 coaches - great number in some respects, but merely a drop in the ocean of opportunity. There are hundreds of millions of people in this country. You can connect with many of them every day in so many ways. Hundreds of millions of people, and less than 2% of them have ever bought a Beachbody product.

But ALMOST ALL of them will justify over-indulging from now until New Years thinking they will start working out January second. "I'll start right after New Years"... (That's a familiar voice!)

Every year, this is the dance. And every year, this is the opportunity.

As a coach, your job is to stake your claim to that opportunity now - maybe not to make a million dollars a year, but maybe to simply get your share: If someone you know is going to buy a Beachbody product in 2009, they need to know that you are a distributor so they come to you to pick the right program and get the best results.

Tell people you are going to do P90X. Tell hem you love Turbo Jam. Tell them when ChaLEAN Extreme launches, you are going to kick it off with a group of people for a three month boot camp. Create the enthusiasm so people have something to commit to this January -- YOU!

But they won't know unless you ARE a coach, and unless you tell them that WHEN they are ready, you have the solution. THAT'S HOW YOU ARE A FORCE OF CHANGE - by increasing the decibel level of how easy it can be to get started and succeed! And then simply being there to help them get started!

It's as easy as reposting blogs like this on MySpace or Facebook. Give it your own flavor and add your coach web store address, but the message is worth repeating from one friend to another until it shows up on every profile on the Internet: These products work, and together we are the best source for success through peer support and motivation!

We priced this coaching concept low so as many people as possible would get involved and get the word out - not just about Beachbody, but about how this trend of obesity and all these health issues can be solved by supporting each other!

Get involved. Stake your claim. And let's build the momentum of the Beachbody Revolution together!

The Cost of Diabetes

This article about the costs of diabetes was forwarded to me by Edward in Ops.

Here's the section that made me sit up in my chair:

Nearly 24 million Americans, 8 percent of the population, have Type 2 diabetes, which can lead to kidney failure, blindness and heart disease.

Current guidelines say doctors should prescribe metformin (about $30 a month) to lower blood sugar in newly diagnosed patients and urge them to eat healthy food and get more exercise. Other drugs can be added later, on top of metformin, to help patients who don't meet blood sugar goals. The updated guidelines don't include Avandia, which costs about $225 a month.

Dr. Susan Spratt, an endocrinologist at Duke University Medical Center, said she prescribes whatever it takes to lower her patients' future risk of blindness and amputations. That can mean coupling more costly drugs with metformin to hit blood sugar goals.

Ok... $225 for patients "who don't meet blood sugar goals"... to lower risks of blindness and amputation. Seems worth $2,700 a year. So does some change to diet and exercise.

For $99.95 - one time - Kathy Smith's Project You for Type 2 will help someone "meet their blood sugar goals" with exercise and diet. The American Diabetes Association saw the need for this type of product, and co-produced the program with Beachbody.

If you are a coach, this should make it difficult to sleep. Be relentless about getting the word out about this. RELENTLESS. People you know have diabetes. Or there are people you know who know people who have diabetes. Their are education groups. There are doctors. THEY ALL NEED TO KNOW THAT YOU HAVE THE SOLUTION, CREATED IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ADA!

This is the ONLY product of its kind on the market. We could give every diabetic in the country this program for $2.5 Billion - one time - versus the $12.5 Billion spent on drugs in 2007 alone! People can save $10 Billion -- $2,700 a year for each person who uses lifestyle change with this program to avoid stepping up to Avandia.

It's amazing to me that we are in this position, but lifestyle change really is that hard. That's what is so powerful about the effect of peer support; friends helping friends. That's how change happens. That's why you are the solution! Let's help some people!

Need a Job?

While things get harder for so many people, still Beachbody coaches are thriving.

Today's headlines are telling: Chrysler Cuts 25% of White Collar Jobs, Goldman Sachs cutting 10% of workforce, Yahoo firing 1,500 workers.

How deep will job cuts get? We hit 6% unemployment in September. In the downturn of 1973 we got up to 9%. Total employment in the U.S. is about 144 million people. That means if unemployment rise another 3%, another 4.3 million people could be out of work. Brutal.

With the financial meltdown and layoffs/unemployment, people are saving money, and they need to find ways to make money.

Beachbody and its coaches are in the perfect position to help people who are currently spending an average $741 per year on dues (before parking, gas, clothes, trainer, etc.) That $18B gym club business is antiquated. Everyday someone signs up to be a Beachbody coach, it's as if they created their own health club in their family room for less than $200. That's the future, and the future is here.

Between our infomercial sales, $90MM in advertising, and 13,000+ distributors, how many people can we get to replace their gym dues with a solution to get results like the NFL cheerleader (below) got with P90X? And how many more people who never set foot in a gym will get started with programs that make it easy, like Slim in 6, Yoga Booty Ballet, or or Ten Minute Trainer?

Get the word out. Every time Beachbody airs a commercial we generate thousands of customers. But hundreds of thousands more see the ads and become prospective customers. That's opportunity for income for you and everyone you know. You get the word out to people you know and people buy from you. It's a home based business where we do the advertising, you just make sure people know you're a distributor. Every 40 sales of P90X makes you over $1,000 in commissions, not including bonuses, and saves your customers hundreds of dollars a year in gym dues.

Sign up today, and use the tools in the coach-back-office to email everyone you know that if they want to lose weight, you can get them solutions like P90X for 10% less money if they join the club, and even less if they become a coach (25% off).

Beachbody saves people money, makes people money, and gets you better results for less money and in less time than the gym. No boss. No employees. Set your own hours. What are you waiting for?

The P90X Cheerleaders

We're all aware that NFL players are using P90X to train, but now it appears that the ladies on the sidelines could step in and knock some heads if need be.

Jon Congdon got this signed 49ers Cheerleaders calendar, which features X-grad Amber on the cover (shot, as it turns out, on "Day 91" of her P90X journey)

Help me out here... Why are people still paying for gym memberships when you can get these kinds of results at home?

What's That Distant Sound?

"Cha-ching"

That's the Beachbody cash register ringing, off in the distance, every time one of your friends or contacts sees one of our shows on TV and orders the product direct from us, instead of from you as a coach.

"Cha-ching."

There goes another one of your contacts, buying from Beachbody, and another $20 commission that leaked out of your contact list.

How do you stop that leak, and turn those sales into your own loud, "Cha-ching"?

My suggestion is that you dust off your contact list today and send out emails, MySpace and Facebook bulletins and you get on the phone to talk to people; and say three important things:

(1) I am now getting in shape and helping people I know do the same as a Beachbody Coach, and my website is TeamBeachbody.com/________

(2) The next time you think about losing weight or you see a Beachbody product that you'd be interested in trying, please let me know so I can show you how to get the lowest price and get the fastest results.

(3) If you decide that you want to earn extra money like I am doing and help others, I can show you how easy it is to be a coach and we can build an income together!

"Cha-ching." "Cha-ching." "Cha-ching." P90X must be playing on CNBC. More of your friends are ordering - not from you.

I want them to order from you because you will help them get started and get the best results. You need to tell them those simple three things!

I know our fitness programs will get them in great shape. And if weight loss is the goal, you can show them how our Meal Replacement Shake is the best value and highest quality on the market compared to the awful cheap junk they sell at discount stores. Do the workouts (play), replace a meal a day to cut calories but maintain that metabolism (shake), and the results will happen. That's your message (share).

"Cha-ching." There goes another one. Why are you still reading this? You need to get the word out now.

The next time you are in the grocery store, at the PTA meeting, on the sidelines of soccer practice, pass out your business cards. Tell people those three things I outlined, and then keep reminding people. Tell them how it is working for you.

At some point this week, every one of the people you know will look at themselves in the mirror. They probably won't be too happy with what they see. You want them to remember you at that moment. When they see a Beachbody product (or any weight loss product on TV for that matter) you want them to think of those conversations or emails you sent them. The people you know are the people I want you to help!

"I'm ready" is what they'll say. They'll lose the weight, and you'll get "Cha-ching!"

"Remember My Name... FAME!"

Over the last 10 years I've appeared in some of our shows to promote products like Power 90, Slim in 6, P90X, and recently the Ten Minute Trainer. With all that exposure, not once have I been recognized, until now...

A friend of Tony Horton's spotted this photo about over-crowding in the Arkansas prison system... They must have been watching the P90X infomercial, giving a new reality to "prison cell push ups". I have found my audience!

The Answer Is Productivity

People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success.

Norman Vincent Peale

We are surrounded by the news of financial meltdown. The credit crisis has yet to find its way through the system to the majority of us. And while I'm no economist, I believe that as the effects of the current crisis and the tight debt markets find their way to "Main street", there will be another wave of defaults, but this time in credit card debt, and we'll be looking at another series of "bail out" scenarios.

So you might be thinking, "What the heck do I do to survive this?"

The answer is, get productive. I have read many accounts of people who managed to build fortunes during recessions, even during the depression era. That's the safety of working with creativity, especially in an area that people truly need no matter what the financial picture.

That's what we have at Beachbody. Our product is not frivolous - this is something that will change the quality of life for everyone who participates. The health care crisis, which costs us billions upon billions of dollars, can be traced to choices, not to economics. When we lead healthier lives, we reduce the cost of health care to ourselves and our society. That is not something that will disappear during a rough economy, but something that will become even more important.

And to be in a position of offering that kind of opportunity for just $39.95, an opportunity that can generate hundreds if not thousands of dollars a month if you work it hard, is ideal - especially when times are tough.

Fortune favors persistence, regardless of the environment around us. We will continue to be smart and creative. And we will continue to help people. When anyone wonders why you are feeling so good and your financial situation is so solid when everyone else is struggling, tell them that you never quit, and you never stopped believing that helping people was worth the effort.

Now is the time to be productive!

You Do The Sharing, We Do The Rest

An acquaintance asked me what she would have to do to be a Beachbody coach:

I said "Play, shake, and share."

She said; "Right, but what about running the business and all that stuff?"

I said: "For the price of a coach kit, here's what happens: We build a website for you, we take orders you get on your website and handle the inventory, billing, shipping, and customer service."

She said: "So what do I do?"

I said: "Play, shake and share... Use a fitness program that suits you, and replace at least one meal a day with a meal replacement shake. The results will be visible very fast and you can still eat the rest of your meals with real food, with the rest of the family. Share means to tell some people what you are doing every day via email, message boards, blogs, in the line at the grocery store. People you talk to will start see you're serious. They will see you drinking your shake. You tell them how easy it is to stay motivated because you're going deep on this one. And they will soon understand that the motivation to turn your weight loss into a profit is HELPING YOU STAY CONSISTENT."

She said: "How will that turn into income for me?"

I said: "We spend over $1 million a week advertising these products. Other network marketing companies don't do that. That means people you "share" with likely know about Turbo Jam, P90X, Ten Minute Trainer, etc. Tell them when they're ready to lose the weight they should buy them through you and join the club, and they will save 10% off the TV price. And to conquer the food problem, replace a meal a day with a substantial meal replacement shake. They might not buy today, but eventually they will see a product from Beachbody that sparks their interest, and they'll remember you were the one who made it sound easy. They'll want to buy from you and get the best price."

She said: "But how do I recruit other coaches?"

I said: "You've told my how frustrated you are that you can never stay with a program. When I asked you if having a money motivation attached to getting fit and eating right would help you stay with it, you said it would. We didn't talk about you getting rich, or buying a new car. We talked about how the slightest hint of an extra income would be that extra ingredient to help you exercise and eat better. And you told me you know a couple other people who could use an extra income and to lose twenty or so pounds. That is the start of an organization, and the path to also getting a couple customers from Beachbody."

She said: "You do the advertising. You set up the website. I don't have to buy a bunch of product to sell. And I don't have to ship it and bill people. I just follow your program to exercise, eat better, and talk to people about it. How can I be sure it will work?"

I said: "There's only one way this will work: If you do it. If you finally get consistent with Play, Shake and Share it will absolutely work. Our walls are lined with pictures of proof. But you have to want it seriously. This can't be another light foray into a lame "diet of the day". Once and for all, you have to want to do what works. Do you think you really want it?"

She said: "I so want to feel better about my body. And I need to find a way out of this debt."

I said: "What's the one thing standing in your way?"

She said: "Me?"

I said: "You can think about it. You can think about it some more. Or you can commit. The solution for your health and your income is right here. You pick the program, get the shake, and start to share it."

She said: "I do the sharing, Beachbody does the rest?"

I said: "Let's get started"

The Team Beachbody Message Boards

When we say the heart of Beachbody Coaching and body transformation success is "Play, Shake and Share", the "share" part is where many people give me a blank stare. That's because, SHARE is what's unique here, so it takes a little creativity and a leap of faith. But we've seen the power of peer-to-peer support help people overcome obstacles over and over again. Sharing and supporting can be as easy as talking to friends and neighbors about what you are doing, posting YouTube updates or blog updates on your progress, or even visiting the Team Beachbody message boards and encouraging people as you share your own story.

Any small daily effort to reinforce your "play/shake" habits will do two things: Help you maintain your commitment and help others understand that this is for real.

Eight years ago, our message boards were the first evidence we had of the power of "sharing". (Think "Weight watchers" support meeting, but online.) The boards are the very soul of Beachbody. The power of the boards is not in their size, but in how it's possible to start a forum with your story and begin to support people and share success on the very same program you or your customers are using right now.

Use the message boards to journal your own process or to simply create a challenge of your own like ShawnMareS did with her PRE-NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION CHALLENGE.

You'll find that as a few others join in the conversation, the boards aren't a vast hoard of people and a tower of babble, but a collection of smaller groups helping each other succeed based on some common interest.

"... I radically changed my body and my life in 90 days using Beachbody's Power 90 In-Home Boot Camp and Slimming Formula. I lost 54 pounds, 35.5 inches, 10% body fat, and 5 pant sizes in the first 90 days. It has now been a little less than 5 months and I have lost more than 72 pounds and gone from wearing 24W/22W to wearing regular size 14s. When I started I was morbidly obese and on the verge of scheduling gastric bypass, now my BMI is no longer in the obesity range!!! To go from morbidly obese to no longer obese before my 40th birthday was my main goal and thanks to Beachbody I have achieved that goal and my birthday is not until this coming Thursday. I feel so blessed that I felt compelled to share my story with you on this forum today for anyone who may feel discouraged. If I can do it - so can you!!!!!!! Hang in there, stick with it, it does and will work!!!!!Shawn Marie (screen name: ShawnMarieS)

In Tough Times, Turn To Charity

There's an article in Business Week about how the financial crisis on Wall Street will have an enormous impact on charities who have relied on generous donations from banks and their executives for much of their annual budgets.

Time to get creative, because that money's not gonna be there this year. And the timing for some charities couldn't be worse. The America Red Cross is staring in the face of hurricane season with dwindling funds. Jonathan Aiken, a spokesman from the disaster relief fund says they have no choice but to borrow the money they need. But that creates a ripple effect; Borrow now, pay interest on that money later which makes it even harder to make ends meet.

I think our coaches have a resource. 200 million Americans need a solution to their health and weight issues. Why don't some of these charities enlist as coaches (we have special structure for 501(c)3 charities to make it economical -- coach relations has more info) and ask their supporters to become coaches downline from the charity and band together to raise money through our business opportunity while they get healthy?

One of the very first charities to get involved as a non-profit Beachbody Coach is the Tunahaki Foundation, a small charity focused on helping an orphanage in Africa. To date they have generated over $3,600 as a coach - and that is with fairly passive action. They mentioned it a couple times in newsletters, but otherwise have not leveraged the opportunity to mobilize their base of supporters to get in shape and help others in the name of helping the kids in Tanzania.

What about right here though? Is your PTA having any issue meeting its budget? We already have school PTA's who have signed up as coaches to raise money by selling healthy Beachbody programs rather than candy and baked goods.

I know many people like Perry Tinsley, Joey Petri, Blake and Angie Warrington, Milan Jensen and David Lewine are looking to leverage the upcoming release of the Kathy Smith's "Project: YOU! for Type Two" to raise money for diabetes-related charities.

In fact, I want to start getting people to sign up for the ADA's step-out walk, Sun Oct 26th in LA at http://www.diabetes.org/Teambeachbody. You can form your own team under Team Beachbody, sign up solo, and sign-up people who sponsor you as a walker. Kathy Smith herself will be leading the warm-up that day, and I'll be walking with my four-month old. (Sign in is at 7.30 am for the 9:00 am walk.)

Here's the bottom line to all this: Beachbody is spending millions a week in TV advertising to make effective products like P90X, Ten Minute Trainer, and Turbo Jam famous. People can buy them from Beachbody directly, they can buy them from you as a coach, or they can buy them from your favorite charity so they earn the 25% commission and you as a coach get the bonus. I know I would rather see the girlscouts motivating their parents and friends to get healthy with "ChaLEAN Extreme" instead of pushing boxes of cookies.

Who do you know that could benefit from Beachbody's healthy alternative to fundraising and community improvement? Why not mobilize that community to workout in the WOWY SuperGym to get healthy, and if anyone wins the $1,000 they split it with the charity? Or devote their personal transformation to that charity and compete for the $10,000 prize in the Million Dollar Body Game -- and then donate the prize to the charity! If I ran a charitable organization I would promote the money Beachbody gives away as if it were the charity's, and rally the population of supporters to "get healthy and help us meet our budget!"

With over 12,000 Beachbody coaches, I know some have connections to charities which you care about. Whether it's active participation to get people healthy the way we are doing with the ADA, or simply getting a charity involved as a coach and promoting the availability of these TV-promoted products in the charity's newsletter, every charity, church, and school who is looking to meet its budget and to have a positive impact on the health and wellness of its community should join as a Beachbody coach.

As Seen In The Press of Atlantic City

Excerpt from "A short week, long on pain"
By DAVID WEINBERG Staff Writer
Published: Sunday, September 21, 2008

"Few players take a beating during a game like long-snapper Jon Dorenbos. On punts, extra points and field goals, he is always getting hit by one, two or even three opposing players.
He recovers by working out every morning in the trainer's room with place-kicker David Akers and punter Sav Rocca. All are devotees to the "P90X'' strength and flexibility routine devised by noted fitness guru Tony Horton.

"I'm actually friends with one of the guys in the 'P90X' videos and I've met Tony a few times,'' Dorenbos said. "I'm a big believer in the program, especially the yoga workouts. I had never done anything like that before, but I find that it really helps me with my flexibility. I've never had a massage in my life or been in a hyperbaric chamber. I stick with what works and this works.''

The Eagles will find out today if all the extra efforts paid off. "

Just Another Manic Monday!

It was another Manic Monday as we continue to drive to get the 2,000 coaches we need to give away the four trips to Mexico this month. (We're over half way there!)

Today’s calls were mostly about how powerful results can be when people inspire the people around them to get healthy and active. When that happens, it’s the person who did the work that deserves the pay day! That’s what being a coach is about!
===============================================

Elizabeth Kulp brought along her husband Dave and friend Amanda. Their results are what will inspire people. It doesn’t have to start out as a million dollar dream, but there is no reason it can’t end up there!

Keith Harris and Connie brought two prospects to the call; Steve, is a P90X fan who learned about the product from unlikely (yet powerful) advocate Jillian Michaels from Biggest Loser. Rick is also doing P90X. By the end of the call it felt like everyone agreed that with their participation it was not too bold to say we really can turn around this trend of obesity if we keep sharing the concept.

Founders Blake and Angie Warrington introduced me to Roy Mitchell, a former pro hockey player for the Montreal Canadiens, firefighter and ACE certified fitness trainer. Roy bought 15 units of P90X and wants to help his entire fire department of 235. He has a great opportunity to not just improve the fitness of the department, but to leverage the heroic stature of firefighters into inspiring the entire community to get on the program.

Kelli Miller, Gwen, and Holly brought Art in to talk about how he can turn his healthy habit of walking into a real fitness habit including some resistance training and a diet that might help lower his cholesterol. Art was looking at other opportunities, but the market demand of 200 million people and product line promoted by $90MM of TV advertising makes this more compelling than anything available.

Melissa McAllister invited Cindy, Heather and two prospects: Kiesha is an engineer who let her education and career replace her former athletic habits and now wants to get back on track. Heather Dixon is an athlete and trainer who is always giving out free workout and diet advice. Now she’ll have the ability to turn that casual advice into real support and a business opportunity, and Kiesha will have the money motivation to get her athletic body back and to inspire the people around her to do the same.

Holly Blockowitz got back on the phone with Walter and Sharon, two of her new coaches, and prospects Gabrielle and Christopher. We talked about how emotional it can be when you don’t recognize your body in the mirror, and you don’t feel like there’s a solution that will work for you. Beachbody coaches know better. The answer is “Play, Shake, and Share.”

Tina Drake brought prospect Jen, a maintenance clerk in a sawmill looking for a new opportunity. We talked about how getting back in shape and earning a substantial income with this opportunity starts with finding your own “Why”, and unleashing all your passion to achieve that on a business opportunity that will both transform your body and reward you for your efforts!

David Martin, Derek, and Sabu are all excited about the opportunity. Sabu has been in the network marketing business in the past. He saw what two rounds of Power 90 and P90X did for David Martin, and he sees that this company is here to stay with great products and a huge opportunity to grow.

Derek Frazier got back on the phone with Roosevelt Holmes and Robert Thomas about how our ~12,000 coaches, while solid, is just a stepping stone as we are on our way to get to 100,000 coaches. These guys sound hungry, and are going to jump in a make big things happen.

Founding coach Tony Barca got Scott on the phone, the January 50+ winner in the Million Dollar Body Game, now he’s looking to reduce work stress and get on with something that can help people.

Charline Bucher doesn’t stop. She spent the weekend braving Ike in Texas to speak in front of 150 people this weekend, is still working hard to bring in some major corporate players, and made time to get on the phone with diamond coach Janice, Christy, and her sister Stormy. They’re making things happen by making sure that the people they know, know they are in the Beachbody business!

Michelle Sweetland has been a coach for a couple months and is talking to her sister Jenny about the opportunity. I think Jenny “got it” in about five seconds; Her last two jobs were spent selling gym memberships. Now she gets to promote the same healthy active lifestyle, but this time open it up beyond prospects within a ten mile radius of the gym to the entire country, and count on monthly recurring revenue that actually might give her the cash flow to take some time off every once in a while!

Long time network marketer Micah May conferenced in Larry, Jason, Brian and Becky. In addition to digging the customer lead program, they get how every customer who gets healthy results inspires another ten, and the ripple effect takes over. That’s the most powerful application of network marketing in history!

Kevin Kane, the “Fit Doc” had three prospects on the line who are ready for the release of Kathy Smith’s “Project: YOU, for Type 2”, Ray, Antoinette and Bill. They’re eager for the release of the single page flyer describing the product so they can start approaching every doctor they can find!

Fran Patoskie called from Honolulu with Kathy who is a Turbokick instructor and Missy, another coach. Something about instructors clicks into gear with the coach opportunity so fast; They get it. And when we started to talk about the upcoming ChaLEAN Extreme, you’d have thought I told them Elvis had a new album coming out!

Tammy Morris had Lee and Anne on the speaker phone. Anyone who has experienced network marketing before always approaches the Beachbody Revolution with some cynicism. Once they heard that we don’t require people to load up on inventory they saw how we’re different than everyone else.

Chela Siegrist brought her father in law to the call. Steve is a pastor and firefighter who had some success with Power 90 years ago. He “got it” when I told him that his prior success with the product probably inspired people to buy it – this time he deserves to get paid when he inspires people with his results – as a coach!

Rochelle Griffin had three Beachbody customers on the phone; Dana, Marybelle and Michelle. They learned that their process and their success will inspire people to buy the same products they’re using. The question is, do they want them to buy from Beachbody, or from them. (I suspect they would rather they buy the products from them. That’s what I want too! They deserve the money since THEY did the work!)

My last call was with Dean Mincer who had prospect Christy on the phone. Here’s a woman who just bought a house and is about to go into nursing school. She has some weight to lose, and would like some extra motivation. Is there a more ideal candidate for earning money in a part-time job at home that motivates you to succeed with your health and fitness program – at the same time that she’s surrounded by other people in the healthcare profession who could be prospects to distribute these products to people in need? Perfect! Let’s do this!

Without A Trace... of fat

Thanks to coach Judy Zavislak for finding another example of the Beachbody Revolution, this time featuring Roselyn Sanchez (Who knew the end of obesity would start... in Hollywood?)

Without a Trace's sultry sleuth says she had to kick her workout routine into high gear when she turned 30. "When it happened to me, it was like, what is going on?" says Roselyn Sanchez, 35. "My hips. My legs. My stomach used to be really flat, but now I have to be careful with what I eat." She keeps in shape with P90X, a 90-day workout plan that has 12 DVDs designed to target a different area of the body. "I swear by it," says Sanchez, who's been doing the program every morning for six months. "Every girl needs to give it a try. It will change your body!"

I Guess Our Zip Code is now 90210

As Seen on People.com

WORK YOUR MUSCLES
Jennie Garth toned up for her comeback role on the
new 90210 by working out five days a week with husband actor Peter Facinelli to trainer Tony Horton's P90X DVDs. "Every day is different," she says. "One day is really hard yoga. Then arms and shoulders, legs, then karate. His program is made to confuse the muscles so you don't plateau. I feel better now than I ever have." Read about other exercise DVDs to get your body moving on Beachbody.com. – Charlotte Triggs

WOWY ALERT!

We should cross over the million WOWY workout mark Saturday, I think. WILL YOU "PUSH PLAY" FOR THE ONE MILLIONTH TIME THIS YEAR?!

It Takes Time, Then It Happens

Diamond Coach Joey Petri shared an email between David and Tim. Tim is a coach who was thinking about quitting the business. David described his process, and the value of getting in and sticking with the business of helping people while the opportunity catches up with your investment.

On one hand, you are helping people while you get in shape yourself. On the other hand, when the cash kicks in, it could help when you need it most. Check it out:

Tim,

I did Power 90 for my wedding and got great results. I have been unemployed since January! Got laid off due to the home building industry down here in Florida.

So I trusted my upline Joey, and all the numbers he was sharing with me. I became a coach in May. I saw that it was ok, but Joe and our other buddy were Emeralds already. I decided to go for it. Mind you, I still did not have a job. I just bought a house and have wedding bills too, but this just sounded awesome. I met with a lot of other networking companies while looking for a job and they all seemed like a pyramid scheme.

I signed up my dad, and my wife to get to Emerald (July 13). I wanted to help the customers plus get the commission if they bought anything. Still no job, eating into my savings....

Now (September 11) 2 months after going to Emerald....I have 56 customers! Cycled 10 times = ~$160

I now have 16 coaches under me, banking volume points every week. I am turning a profit after only 2 months. (I'll be honest - I don't go out looking for new people to sign up or setting up meetings, conference calls, etc. I know I should do this, but it has really surprised me how fast this has taken off) I know if I continue my workouts and lead by example like Joey, others will begin to follow.

Just had a customer buy $160 worth of stuff today. I am going to send her an email this week; That is a $40 commission for me!

It is tough to make the decision to go for getting to Emerald, I know (even with my wife afraid of the investment since I didn't have a job). But I just accepted a job last week, 8 months of looking.

It is worth every dollar and every drop of sweat working out. I am there to help you, so is Joey, so is the rest of our team.

Let me know if I can answer any questions.

Thanks,
Dave

Web Team at Work... Beachbody-style

I was walking out of the office the other day at 5 sharp and happened to notice the entire web team was in various stages of exercise in the middle of their work area.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"We do this every hour on the hour" said Kenny (front left).

"All day?"

"All day, every day." he said, and he continued his set of push ups.

Neil Evans was kind of enough to shoot me a still for the blog. I suppose when you work all day staring at before and after photos of customer success stories, at a certain point the urge burns through the fog and you have to get out of the chair and do something! (I wonder if they log into the WOWY Super Gym each time.)

Let's Make This "Big September"

While we didn't sign up 1,000 new coaches during the August 18th "Everybody Gets One" week promotion, the tall stack of "official certificates of achievement" waiting on my desk for signature sure looks like we picked up huge momentum! HUGE! And with that, we should cross that 11,000 coach mark today or tomorrow!

That also means we didn't give away the two trips to Mexico yet. But the momentum is irresistible, so we're actually leaving those trips on the table and upping the ante with two more by extending the challenge into September:

EVERYBODY GET ONE IN SEPTEMBER: If we sign up 2,000 new coaches between Sept 1st and Sept 28th, we will put up a potential FOUR trips to the Mexican Riviera!

Here's how it works: If we get those 2,000 coaches, anyone who signs up at least one coach from Aug 18th through Sept 28th will be eligible for one of two trips to our Top Coach trip in Mexico. And if they're upline sponsor coach also signed someone up, that coach goes too! Four trips are up for grabs! That means a coach who signs up one now who also sponsors a new coach actually has four chances to win.

As coach Traci Morrow said, "That's better than the odds of hitting the lottery!"

Let's remember, this is about spreading the word that health and fitness is achieved by supporting each other and making it as much of a habit as brushing our teeth. And by supporting each other to get into this healthy habit we really will turn around this trend of obesity!

You are the Beachbody Revolution, and for that, you coaches deserve to be recognized and rewarded.

What's impressing me about this promotion is how many people who never signed up a coach before are now already getting into the act. That means the dream is alive and well -- people simply need to help a couple of people sign up in order to get started, and then the momentum builds. Before you know it, you have helped a whole group of people tap into this system of "Play, Shake and Share" to get fit, eat right, and get paid for it!

Now it's your turn? Who do you know that needs a nudge to take charge of their life? Who is that one person that would like a little (low-carb) icing on the (low-fat) cake of being a coach? One thing I hear over and over is that the combination of the business opportunity and the prospect of going to Mexico are great motivators for staying consistent with your program -- which makes this an ideal concept for customers to sign up for. And the bottom line to all this is, we are going to continue to build this wave of support until we blow through that million coach number to help over 100 million people, and if it takes some trips to Mexico to get it in gear, so be it.

Let's keep it going gang! You are doing great work, and we are seeing it in the faces of every person who gets healthy thanks to your courage and persistence!

Beachbody Beijing

I'm away from the office for the week. But if you want to see what some of the rest of the team is up to, you gotta track fitness guru Steve Edwards and co-founder Jon Congdon as they work the Olympics with some vendors and see what sort of talent is looking for the best in fitness programs.

The commentary is memorable. Check it out!

The Simple Things, like "Killer Abs"

As complex as life can be, it's the simple things that add the color. I look forward to my Saturday morning with the latest issue of Business Week. I know that every night I get "my time" with the baby he's going to give me his laugh when I hold him upside down by his feet. And I love the monthly anticipation of what's going to show up on my doorstep with the next One-On-One issue. (And yes, I get it mailed to me just like everybody else)

I know the title, I've seen the promo, but until you put one of these babies into the player and take Tony on as he's goes through his personal routine, you're just collecting workouts. The last shipment was Road Warrior, an intense twist on Power 90 3-4 with some abs that made me cry like a 3 month old. (Oh, wait, maybe that actually was my 3 month old.)

September it's "Killer Abs". Killer Abs?... Killer? Will it just hurt or will it actually kill us? Or will my abs look so fabulous they shall simply end anyone who dare to gaze upon my six-packiness? Maybe a combo of all that.

Tony, Mason, and rockmaestro Jason Scheff are creating something special with these routines. If you have yet to subscribe, you don't know how close you can feel to America's #1 trainer until you get on his monthly program.

And I understand that in an upcoming shipment we're dropping a free preview DVD of Chalene's new extreme program which takes a cutting-edge approach to monthly phasing to get super-cut. You're only getting that preview if you're a One-on-One subscriber.

Like I said, it's the simple things right? I doubt we can classify Killer Abs as simple. But, it's wondering just what Tony's going to do and if I can keep up that adds a layer of fun to my workouts which keeps me interested. Nice work Tony!

And when they bring it, it shall get brung.

Manic Monday and Super Tuesday

Wow! Once again I am blown away at the energy and passion of our coaches. I feel like I am sitting on a powder keg watching the fuse burn away as it approaches the barrel and this baby is about to explode! "5...4...3...2..."

"Everybody Gets One" kicked off with calls all day Monday and most of Tuesday.
================================================
We got started a little after 8AM when Milan Jensen brought in Marvin, who used to love fitness, fell off, and then five years ago decided to get back into shape with kickboxing and martial arts. He started coaching people, became and instructor, and then found P90X. Marvin is helping celebrities and the regular Joe alike, considering now making fitness and health his life’s work as a coach.

Richard Dafter brought along super star Mike Bent and his fiancee Ronda, and Brian. We talked about how great this opportunity is for students. Richard, a single father, loves how this is a great opportunity to give him flexibility to earn an income and still spend time with his young kids.

Dee McClanton is determined to help motivate people as she is on her way to both losing over 120 lbs and making the coach opportunity her way to build the family income. She knows her “why” and is determined to make this healthy business a success!

Tammie Fitzgerald and Clarissa (missmac) had a great call where we talked about the importance of not “selling” but instead finding out what a person wants to achieve. Selling “fitness and healthy eating” is an uphill battle. But when you simply talk to people about what they want to achieve, there is a way to get them to WANT to participate. It's not about the product or the program, it's about having a life you love to live!

Anne Anderson and I talked about motivation. The tough part of being a coach is being misunderstood, where some people just don’t get the vision. That’s when we discussed how when you transform your body, everyone around you wants to know how you did it. When they find out it was with a fitness and eating plan that cost less than $200, they’ll want to do it to. If that results in sales, don’t you deserve your share of the income? We think you do, and that’s we launched this network; to give the people who do the hard work of pursuing fitness and health the reward for inspiring others.

Steve Thorson is fired up about the program, and brought John, a “Chicago” fan from Virginia Beach on the line to get a bunch on board during the “Everybody Gets One Week.” These guys are getting out there to spread the word, and getting themselves in position to make big things happen when the concept of the Beachbody Revolution reaches its tipping point. Beachbody customer complaints about fitness disappear when people see the kind of results they can get with these programs in a matter of weeks and for less than the price of a couple personal training sessions.

Kristy McLean is all about turning her $10,000 prize into a groundswell of enthusiasm for results and opportunity. She gets it that success sells, and whenever one of her contacts buys a Beachbody program, she knows that will inspire tens if not hundreds more to do what it takes to enjoy an energetic and healthy life.

Mary is a new coach in Georgia under powerhouses Linda and Vince. Mary is already ready to “get one” this week, which I appreciate so much! And since the southeast of the US needs this program the most statistically, coaches like Mary will be key to turning things around. No one said it would be easy, but when it happens, it’s going to be big!

Mike Bent, Wayne brought on four prospects Melissa, Whitney, and Robert and John. They simply get it. These are busy people, who like the idea of helping people. I love that. These are the kind of people who will continue the solid foundation of “people helping people” that launched the Beachbody coach network.

Suzy Stauffer brought YMCA trainer Johnny to a call. Here’s a guy who is already helping people get fit and healthy, and now he has the chance of turning it into a real cash-flow generator by scaling his business into something that doesn’t limit his income by the hours he works. Instead, his income is only limited by the people he helps.

Sharon Walker in Austin is working on bringing the owner of a country club in Austin that has a huge fitness program into the fold. They are looking at incorporating what we do into their club to expand their influence outside of their geographic audience and giving their internal trainers an additional source of revenue.

Jared Keo called to get questions answered. In week 10 of P90X, he’s getting noticed by personal trainers who are learning from him that it’s less productive counting reps for a few clients a day than it is to help hundreds of customers by motivating them to use proven Beachbody programs that work in the comfort of your own home!

Chris was invited to the call by Howard Garcia. Timing matters to Chris, but he is determined to get to the top of the compensation plan if he gets involved. Both these guys see how marketing a product that helps people like fitness and portion control can have a dramatic, if not game-changing potential (and the customer-lead program doesn’t hurt in the process!)

Kim Hopkins has been in network marketing, and been hesitant to talk about this opportunity with friends and family. She got fired up along with her friend Della, both nurses, who now see that for the first time, they can get compensated based on how many people they help a week, versus how many hours they worked.

A solid contingent from Las Vegas got on the phone both the remember the great work Tom Harper did for Team Beachbody, and to look for ways to recapture their enthusiasm. One thing I know is, Tom was about going for it with absolute enthusiasm to help people and make things happen. I could sense that Denise, Paula, Larry and Juan have what it takes to get friends, and friends of friends to tap into this healthy lifestyle. Now is the time. You have incredible potential to help so many people and enjoy the rewards of an incredible organizational position as we battle our way to the tipping point. Don’t squander this guys, Tom would expect more from everyone – so now is the time to ramp it up!

Annie and Carrie braved the traffic in Orange County over the weekend, and came back for more today. Sounds like they get the importance of momentum, and they’ve got what it takes to take their passion for fitness and spread the word.

Kim Haru was wondering about advice for new coaches. She’s a nutrition major in a perfect position to get incredible results with P90X, and inspire all those students who want to have a body to show off at Spring Break that she’s got the answer.

MySpace friends Elizabeth and Carrie called to find out how to get their coaches pumped up. We discovered together that the LAST thing we need to do is pump people up. Getting excited about being successful is like a Vegas wedding – the commitment fades with the excitement. REAL commitment comes with deciding you want to achieve something, and directing your energy at achieving it. We are all busy. If you want to be successful in fitness or in earning an income, you need to "get unbusy" with the stuff that is not moving you toward your goal, and commit to action that will absolutely lead you toward your goal, inch by inch, day by day.

Yvette and Christine a new coach got on the phone to ask what steps a new coach should go through to get off on the right fit. I gave the same answer to them I gave to Meredith Gelfand and then Kri’stina Kyle: Instead of handing out cards and talking just about your results, you need to find out what your prospect wants to achieve, and discuss whether Beachbody and/or being a coach might be the answer to get it. Ask questions, and you will hear how you can help people. There’s no convincing necessary, just real caring and problem solving!

Also, there was a question about whether this business is a pyramid scam. That one always makes me laugh because we couldn’t be further from it. When you work your butt off for 90 days to get results and those results inspire people around you to buy the program, does Beachbody deserve to keep all the money or do you deserve a reward for being the inspiration in the first place? And if that friend you inspired becomes a coach and starts selling tons of product because they got great results, does Beachbody deserve to keep all the money for that effort, or do you deserve a share of the revenue since you brought your friend in first? I think if we kept all the money for your effort, THAT would be the scam. This is people helping people get healthy, and that’s the most productive and fair business model I have ever heard of.

Anne Dovel sent Ron to get some inside tips on signing people up, and it looks good that he’ll sign up some coaches from the local school district.

Leo is a Turbokick instructor and called because he was encountering a road block.

Richard Dafter invited coach Bernie Smith to a call, who told me how he knows tons of doctors, which led to the description of how Kathy Smith’s “Project: You for type 2” diabetics is the perfect product for the medical community to treat diabetes beyond medication. If I were a coach I would be speaking to as many doctors and nurses as possible!

Randy Watson is part of the Fitzgerald-Dovel juggernaut, and has turned up the heat this last month, signing up almost 20 coaches in the last two weeks – that’s in a town of just 13,000! His secret: Just reach out to people and help them solve their problems. This guy is so on board that he is giving a box of peanut butter bars to any of his coaches who sign up a coach during Everybody Gets one Week! Love that teamwork Randy!

Rachel, Matt and Laran, asked how to be a coach, and then Michelle Moy and prospective coach Sherri asked what being a coach means. I think it’s a three stepped responsibility: You help people be accountable to their goal to get healthy and fit; be compassionate if they struggle and help them get back on track; and if they need extra motivation to succeed, show them how the financial incentive of being a coach can help keep anyone on track to stay interested in getting results with the Beachbody programs.

Those were all the Monday calls. Tuesday started at 9AM, and talk about going for it -- Judy Rangel brought Rochelle Guriba to the phone while she was sitting in the dentist chair! That fit right into my premise that at one time in our history, using a tooth brush every day was a new concept. Now every body brushes (I hope). Same thing now for exercise; It may be a completely new concept to most of the US, but my goal is that within the next couple years we’ll change all that, so the people who don’t work out are the rarity.

Next were P90X graduate Michael, new coach Cass, Perry, Joel (May 2007 success story), and MMA fighter Brad who is training over 60 clients. Brad offered his clients the option of working out with DVD program at home and the option of building an income from it. This group is going places!

Beachbody standout Maria Nevarez is back on track with her own Play, Shake and Share program, and using the bulk emailer tool to get things started with customers who may have given up. And while she dislikes pushing people (who doesn't?), she's another coach who can see a huge opportunity with trainers struggling in her area who would like an additional source of income.

Jeff Dostal and Van Coker like the fact that they can get in better shape, make some money, and not have to buy a lot of inventory. Van wants to have his energy back and enjoy his grand kids. With our annual advertising budget, we’re out there spreading the message, and the coach's job is to talk it up. Jeff told me a story of a guy who runs 3 miles a day who was a convert to the Ten Minute Trainer after just one workout!

Kelly Ryan and Ali called from Bakersfield. They both have friends who would be interested in the kinds of results that Kelly and her husband have gotten. She continues to inspire everyone around her, and I think Ali will be the next to inspire many people if she signs up to be a coach!

Mike Beinlich, Rick Haggard and Bob Raypole from Florida got on the phone to get some input on how to maximize the business. Rick has lost over 40 lbs with our programs and is a walking billboard for the potential of these programs, and Bob is an experienced network marketing looking for an opportunity which is a solid long term bet. I know he found it in the Beachbody Revolution!

Joseph Petri brought Heidi in as a prospect from upstate NY, a college professor who is going to continue to build on the powerhouse that is starting to bubble in the Rochester area.

And the last call of the morning was Lisa MacAnespie-Tucker, part of a new coach in a leg that is picking up momentum. She is a former gymnast who wants to coach at the same time that she works on her own transformation. That’s the best time to be a coach I think, because she’ll have all the more accountability to herself if she is also helping others stay consistent. She has the same motivation to enlist people she’s supporting to become coaches – as everyone who has some accountability to someone else has a better chance of success. That’s a success link, and that’s the power of this network!

===================================================
The bottom line is: Thank you all for helping us get the word out. When you talk to people about this opportunity, ask them what they want to achieve. Explore with them how being a coach can help them achieve their success. And know that this business model is a real service to people, rewarding them for their hard work and inspiration by paying them when their results create demand for Beachbody programs.

The Beachbody Revolution is here. The momentum is exciting. And it’s only happening thanks to your hard work and care for getting people healthy and fit. I'm getting my signing pen ready to sign those certificates of achievement for coaches who signed up someone this week. Everybody Gets One that gets one!

Everybody Gets One!

This is the week for bringing in more people to help us get the word out about the revolutionary system of health and fitness that is Beachbody. If you're a coach, it's time to mobilize -- EVERY COACH BRINGS IN ONE COACH!

My motivation this week to spread the word is more intense than ever... I spent the weekend learning how to surf with a friend from college and his family. All I can say is - "THANK YOU TEAM BEACHBODY!" If it weren't for Beachbody and the people who help keep us all motivated to do the hard thing of pushing play, no way would I have been able to not only learn how to ride the waves, but catch 14 of them in a day! More than that though -- as sore as I was the day after, I would have been a complete dish rag if my body didn't have a foundation of fitness first.

Life is so much more amazing when you try new stuff. Sure TV can be very entertaining, and there is always something tasty waiting to be eaten. But when something new and incredible like riding a wave or boogie boarding with my daughter presents itself, having the fitness to enjoy it for five solid hours is worth every WOWY workout, every disciplined food choice.

I know many of you coaches get what I am talking about. And that's why I hope you turn up the heat this week, and help someone you know get into this too! The Beachbody Revolution starts now. We need you to find someone who has the drive to spread the word with us this week! And there's a trip to Mexico up for grabs if we hit our numbers! (See below)

Let's do this, and let's spread the word that there's a lot to life if you have the health and fitness to enjoy it!
