I love creating things, building something that will be productive and solve a problem. I also like building income over the long term. Creativity, contribution, and constant steady year-over-year growth... that's how I approach what I do.
Beachbody exceeded $300 million in sales last year, largely due to the success of infomercials like Turbo Jam, P90X, Ten Minute Trainer, Slim in 6 and Hip Hop Abs. We have the most compelling pipeline of new products and infomercial since we launched the company. So, why network marketing?
I believe the real opportunity in fitness is not in building a huge monolithic company that simply sells product to people. Companies have been trying to leverage fitness to build huge businesses for decades. Yet the obesity trend grows, and no fitness company has really succeeded in getting people to REALLY embrace what it takes to get healthy and fit. Not the equipment makers. Not the gym chains. Not the weight loss centers. Not even Beachbody. Yes, we continue to grow, infomercial by infomercial, selling great product to people, and we've had some amazing success stories. But many people still will start-then-quit just like everything else they've tried unless there is another dynamic at work.
That's what the Beachbody Coach Network is about -- adding the powerful dynamic of peer-support, the "Share" of "Play, Shake and Share", to help people stay accountable to their desire to get healthy and fit.
Our network marketing business is 16,000 coach-distributors strong and growing fast. We assign customer leads to qualified coaches (for free) when one of our TV customers says they want support to succeed with their program. The coach helps that customer set their start date, and stay accountable to consistency. Our coaches are not fitness experts or nutritionists -- but friends who care about revolutionizing how people approach their own health and fitness.
In exchange, in the future when those customer leads purchase another product from Beachbody, the coach gets the commission.
And it works. Anne Dovel sent me this email string... Amazing stuff:

From: Anne Dovel
To: Carl Daikeler
Subject: new customer lead
Hey Carl. Been a while since I’ve sent you a thumb’s up for everything you do. I thought you’d like to see a customer who is grateful for the coaching program. :) Thanks for everything. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and wish you a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. :) Anne
Hi Anne! I am proud of the difference that I see. I know I can do this. It just takes time and effort. I honestly can't thank you enough for all your help. I am really grateful that Beachbody started the coaching program because I don't know that I would have been able to do all this without your help. I know my husband was trying to help me but he couldn't really come up with a menu for me and he really doesn't understand where I am coming from about hating the way I look. You do because you are a mom too and I think that is so cool to talk to you. You understand so much more than anyone else I've talked too. But anyways I will talk to you later. I hope you get your knitting fixed.
Thanks,
Susan

Anne gets it, and now another customer has had success. As Anne said to Susan in a reply: "The reason Beachbody started the coaching was because they found out that someone had a greater chance of succeeding even if they just had someone to talk to who had been through the challenges they are going through!"
And it's a win-win that will continue to grow. I know that because I get so many emails like this one from part-time coach Joey Petri. While many coaches are still working their way to their first check and income is always a factor of skill and effort, here's a young coach who is one of the many people who are turning this opportunity into a dream job:

I just wanted to share this with you guys because I'm super excited.
I added up all my commission checks from 2008 and I earned $13,394.98!!! This is amazing to me and I know that 2009 will be an ever bigger and better year. This money allowed me to go to school full time and pursue a 2nd degree in Phys Ed, this allowed me to live in my place and not move home, this paid my bills and my gas. (Disclaimer I also had some help from my savings as a pharma rep.) This is going to make 2009 an amazing and exciting year. Thanks again for all of your support!!
Joey
P.S. Traci, I still remember our 5 minute conversation at Tony's Camp in NY and I told you about how I was considering going back to school for my phys ed degree. You said Beachbody would allow me the freedom to do what I want to do and I'm so thrilled and excited to continue to make that conversation, that dream, a reality.

So when people ask me "Why Network Marketing", I respond that it is an imperative. Growth is one thing, contribution is another. This business model has both, and instead of one giant company, we're going to be a company of a million coaches, each their own independent company, helping 100 million people get healthy and fit. That's what we will achieve, and that's why network marketing is a priority!

The Team Beachbody Message Boards
When we say the heart of Beachbody Coaching and body transformation success is "Play, Shake and Share", the "share" part is where many people give me a blank stare. That's because, SHARE is what's unique here, so it takes a little creativity and a leap of faith. But we've seen the power of peer-to-peer support help people overcome obstacles over and over again. Sharing and supporting can be as easy as talking to friends and neighbors about what you are doing, posting YouTube updates or blog updates on your progress, or even visiting the Team Beachbody message boards and encouraging people as you share your own story.
Any small daily effort to reinforce your "play/shake" habits will do two things: Help you maintain your commitment and help others understand that this is for real.
Eight years ago, our message boards were the first evidence we had of the power of "sharing". (Think "Weight watchers" support meeting, but online.) The boards are the very soul of Beachbody. The power of the boards is not in their size, but in how it's possible to start a forum with your story and begin to support people and share success on the very same program you or your customers are using right now.
Use the message boards to journal your own process or to simply create a challenge of your own like ShawnMareS did with her PRE-NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION CHALLENGE.
You'll find that as a few others join in the conversation, the boards aren't a vast hoard of people and a tower of babble, but a collection of smaller groups helping each other succeed based on some common interest.

"... I radically changed my body and my life in 90 days using Beachbody's Power 90 In-Home Boot Camp and Slimming Formula. I lost 54 pounds, 35.5 inches, 10% body fat, and 5 pant sizes in the first 90 days. It has now been a little less than 5 months and I have lost more than 72 pounds and gone from wearing 24W/22W to wearing regular size 14s. When I started I was morbidly obese and on the verge of scheduling gastric bypass, now my BMI is no longer in the obesity range!!! To go from morbidly obese to no longer obese before my 40th birthday was my main goal and thanks to Beachbody I have achieved that goal and my birthday is not until this coming Thursday. I feel so blessed that I felt compelled to share my story with you on this forum today for anyone who may feel discouraged. If I can do it - so can you!!!!!!! Hang in there, stick with it, it does and will work!!!!!Shawn Marie (screen name: ShawnMarieS)

Let's Make This "Big September"
While we didn't sign up 1,000 new coaches during the August 18th "Everybody Gets One" week promotion, the tall stack of "official certificates of achievement" waiting on my desk for signature sure looks like we picked up huge momentum! HUGE! And with that, we should cross that 11,000 coach mark today or tomorrow!
That also means we didn't give away the two trips to Mexico yet. But the momentum is irresistible, so we're actually leaving those trips on the table and upping the ante with two more by extending the challenge into September:
EVERYBODY GET ONE IN SEPTEMBER: If we sign up 2,000 new coaches between Sept 1st and Sept 28th, we will put up a potential FOUR trips to the Mexican Riviera!
Here's how it works: If we get those 2,000 coaches, anyone who signs up at least one coach from Aug 18th through Sept 28th will be eligible for one of two trips to our Top Coach trip in Mexico. And if they're upline sponsor coach also signed someone up, that coach goes too! Four trips are up for grabs! That means a coach who signs up one now who also sponsors a new coach actually has four chances to win.
As coach Traci Morrow said, "That's better than the odds of hitting the lottery!"
Let's remember, this is about spreading the word that health and fitness is achieved by supporting each other and making it as much of a habit as brushing our teeth. And by supporting each other to get into this healthy habit we really will turn around this trend of obesity!
You are the Beachbody Revolution, and for that, you coaches deserve to be recognized and rewarded.
What's impressing me about this promotion is how many people who never signed up a coach before are now already getting into the act. That means the dream is alive and well -- people simply need to help a couple of people sign up in order to get started, and then the momentum builds. Before you know it, you have helped a whole group of people tap into this system of "Play, Shake and Share" to get fit, eat right, and get paid for it!
Now it's your turn? Who do you know that needs a nudge to take charge of their life? Who is that one person that would like a little (low-carb) icing on the (low-fat) cake of being a coach? One thing I hear over and over is that the combination of the business opportunity and the prospect of going to Mexico are great motivators for staying consistent with your program -- which makes this an ideal concept for customers to sign up for. And the bottom line to all this is, we are going to continue to build this wave of support until we blow through that million coach number to help over 100 million people, and if it takes some trips to Mexico to get it in gear, so be it.
Let's keep it going gang! You are doing great work, and we are seeing it in the faces of every person who gets healthy thanks to your courage and persistence!

Manic Monday and Super Tuesday
Wow! Once again I am blown away at the energy and passion of our coaches. I feel like I am sitting on a powder keg watching the fuse burn away as it approaches the barrel and this baby is about to explode! "5...4...3...2..."
"Everybody Gets One" kicked off with calls all day Monday and most of Tuesday.
================================================
We got started a little after 8AM when Milan Jensen brought in Marvin, who used to love fitness, fell off, and then five years ago decided to get back into shape with kickboxing and martial arts. He started coaching people, became and instructor, and then found P90X. Marvin is helping celebrities and the regular Joe alike, considering now making fitness and health his life’s work as a coach.
Richard Dafter brought along super star Mike Bent and his fiancee Ronda, and Brian. We talked about how great this opportunity is for students. Richard, a single father, loves how this is a great opportunity to give him flexibility to earn an income and still spend time with his young kids.
Dee McClanton is determined to help motivate people as she is on her way to both losing over 120 lbs and making the coach opportunity her way to build the family income. She knows her “why” and is determined to make this healthy business a success!
Tammie Fitzgerald and Clarissa (missmac) had a great call where we talked about the importance of not “selling” but instead finding out what a person wants to achieve. Selling “fitness and healthy eating” is an uphill battle. But when you simply talk to people about what they want to achieve, there is a way to get them to WANT to participate. It's not about the product or the program, it's about having a life you love to live!
Anne Anderson and I talked about motivation. The tough part of being a coach is being misunderstood, where some people just don’t get the vision. That’s when we discussed how when you transform your body, everyone around you wants to know how you did it. When they find out it was with a fitness and eating plan that cost less than $200, they’ll want to do it to. If that results in sales, don’t you deserve your share of the income? We think you do, and that’s we launched this network; to give the people who do the hard work of pursuing fitness and health the reward for inspiring others.
Steve Thorson is fired up about the program, and brought John, a “Chicago” fan from Virginia Beach on the line to get a bunch on board during the “Everybody Gets One Week.” These guys are getting out there to spread the word, and getting themselves in position to make big things happen when the concept of the Beachbody Revolution reaches its tipping point. Beachbody customer complaints about fitness disappear when people see the kind of results they can get with these programs in a matter of weeks and for less than the price of a couple personal training sessions.
Kristy McLean is all about turning her $10,000 prize into a groundswell of enthusiasm for results and opportunity. She gets it that success sells, and whenever one of her contacts buys a Beachbody program, she knows that will inspire tens if not hundreds more to do what it takes to enjoy an energetic and healthy life.
Mary is a new coach in Georgia under powerhouses Linda and Vince. Mary is already ready to “get one” this week, which I appreciate so much! And since the southeast of the US needs this program the most statistically, coaches like Mary will be key to turning things around. No one said it would be easy, but when it happens, it’s going to be big!
Mike Bent, Wayne brought on four prospects Melissa, Whitney, and Robert and John. They simply get it. These are busy people, who like the idea of helping people. I love that. These are the kind of people who will continue the solid foundation of “people helping people” that launched the Beachbody coach network.
Suzy Stauffer brought YMCA trainer Johnny to a call. Here’s a guy who is already helping people get fit and healthy, and now he has the chance of turning it into a real cash-flow generator by scaling his business into something that doesn’t limit his income by the hours he works. Instead, his income is only limited by the people he helps.
Sharon Walker in Austin is working on bringing the owner of a country club in Austin that has a huge fitness program into the fold. They are looking at incorporating what we do into their club to expand their influence outside of their geographic audience and giving their internal trainers an additional source of revenue.
Jared Keo called to get questions answered. In week 10 of P90X, he’s getting noticed by personal trainers who are learning from him that it’s less productive counting reps for a few clients a day than it is to help hundreds of customers by motivating them to use proven Beachbody programs that work in the comfort of your own home!
Chris was invited to the call by Howard Garcia. Timing matters to Chris, but he is determined to get to the top of the compensation plan if he gets involved. Both these guys see how marketing a product that helps people like fitness and portion control can have a dramatic, if not game-changing potential (and the customer-lead program doesn’t hurt in the process!)
Kim Hopkins has been in network marketing, and been hesitant to talk about this opportunity with friends and family. She got fired up along with her friend Della, both nurses, who now see that for the first time, they can get compensated based on how many people they help a week, versus how many hours they worked.
A solid contingent from Las Vegas got on the phone both the remember the great work Tom Harper did for Team Beachbody, and to look for ways to recapture their enthusiasm. One thing I know is, Tom was about going for it with absolute enthusiasm to help people and make things happen. I could sense that Denise, Paula, Larry and Juan have what it takes to get friends, and friends of friends to tap into this healthy lifestyle. Now is the time. You have incredible potential to help so many people and enjoy the rewards of an incredible organizational position as we battle our way to the tipping point. Don’t squander this guys, Tom would expect more from everyone – so now is the time to ramp it up!
Annie and Carrie braved the traffic in Orange County over the weekend, and came back for more today. Sounds like they get the importance of momentum, and they’ve got what it takes to take their passion for fitness and spread the word.
Kim Haru was wondering about advice for new coaches. She’s a nutrition major in a perfect position to get incredible results with P90X, and inspire all those students who want to have a body to show off at Spring Break that she’s got the answer.
MySpace friends Elizabeth and Carrie called to find out how to get their coaches pumped up. We discovered together that the LAST thing we need to do is pump people up. Getting excited about being successful is like a Vegas wedding – the commitment fades with the excitement. REAL commitment comes with deciding you want to achieve something, and directing your energy at achieving it. We are all busy. If you want to be successful in fitness or in earning an income, you need to "get unbusy" with the stuff that is not moving you toward your goal, and commit to action that will absolutely lead you toward your goal, inch by inch, day by day.
Yvette and Christine a new coach got on the phone to ask what steps a new coach should go through to get off on the right fit. I gave the same answer to them I gave to Meredith Gelfand and then Kri’stina Kyle: Instead of handing out cards and talking just about your results, you need to find out what your prospect wants to achieve, and discuss whether Beachbody and/or being a coach might be the answer to get it. Ask questions, and you will hear how you can help people. There’s no convincing necessary, just real caring and problem solving!
Also, there was a question about whether this business is a pyramid scam. That one always makes me laugh because we couldn’t be further from it. When you work your butt off for 90 days to get results and those results inspire people around you to buy the program, does Beachbody deserve to keep all the money or do you deserve a reward for being the inspiration in the first place? And if that friend you inspired becomes a coach and starts selling tons of product because they got great results, does Beachbody deserve to keep all the money for that effort, or do you deserve a share of the revenue since you brought your friend in first? I think if we kept all the money for your effort, THAT would be the scam. This is people helping people get healthy, and that’s the most productive and fair business model I have ever heard of.
Anne Dovel sent Ron to get some inside tips on signing people up, and it looks good that he’ll sign up some coaches from the local school district.
Leo is a Turbokick instructor and called because he was encountering a road block.
Richard Dafter invited coach Bernie Smith to a call, who told me how he knows tons of doctors, which led to the description of how Kathy Smith’s “Project: You for type 2” diabetics is the perfect product for the medical community to treat diabetes beyond medication. If I were a coach I would be speaking to as many doctors and nurses as possible!
Randy Watson is part of the Fitzgerald-Dovel juggernaut, and has turned up the heat this last month, signing up almost 20 coaches in the last two weeks – that’s in a town of just 13,000! His secret: Just reach out to people and help them solve their problems. This guy is so on board that he is giving a box of peanut butter bars to any of his coaches who sign up a coach during Everybody Gets one Week! Love that teamwork Randy!
Rachel, Matt and Laran, asked how to be a coach, and then Michelle Moy and prospective coach Sherri asked what being a coach means. I think it’s a three stepped responsibility: You help people be accountable to their goal to get healthy and fit; be compassionate if they struggle and help them get back on track; and if they need extra motivation to succeed, show them how the financial incentive of being a coach can help keep anyone on track to stay interested in getting results with the Beachbody programs.
Those were all the Monday calls. Tuesday started at 9AM, and talk about going for it -- Judy Rangel brought Rochelle Guriba to the phone while she was sitting in the dentist chair! That fit right into my premise that at one time in our history, using a tooth brush every day was a new concept. Now every body brushes (I hope). Same thing now for exercise; It may be a completely new concept to most of the US, but my goal is that within the next couple years we’ll change all that, so the people who don’t work out are the rarity.
Next were P90X graduate Michael, new coach Cass, Perry, Joel (May 2007 success story), and MMA fighter Brad who is training over 60 clients. Brad offered his clients the option of working out with DVD program at home and the option of building an income from it. This group is going places!
Beachbody standout Maria Nevarez is back on track with her own Play, Shake and Share program, and using the bulk emailer tool to get things started with customers who may have given up. And while she dislikes pushing people (who doesn't?), she's another coach who can see a huge opportunity with trainers struggling in her area who would like an additional source of income.
Jeff Dostal and Van Coker like the fact that they can get in better shape, make some money, and not have to buy a lot of inventory. Van wants to have his energy back and enjoy his grand kids. With our annual advertising budget, we’re out there spreading the message, and the coach's job is to talk it up. Jeff told me a story of a guy who runs 3 miles a day who was a convert to the Ten Minute Trainer after just one workout!
Kelly Ryan and Ali called from Bakersfield. They both have friends who would be interested in the kinds of results that Kelly and her husband have gotten. She continues to inspire everyone around her, and I think Ali will be the next to inspire many people if she signs up to be a coach!
Mike Beinlich, Rick Haggard and Bob Raypole from Florida got on the phone to get some input on how to maximize the business. Rick has lost over 40 lbs with our programs and is a walking billboard for the potential of these programs, and Bob is an experienced network marketing looking for an opportunity which is a solid long term bet. I know he found it in the Beachbody Revolution!
Joseph Petri brought Heidi in as a prospect from upstate NY, a college professor who is going to continue to build on the powerhouse that is starting to bubble in the Rochester area.
And the last call of the morning was Lisa MacAnespie-Tucker, part of a new coach in a leg that is picking up momentum. She is a former gymnast who wants to coach at the same time that she works on her own transformation. That’s the best time to be a coach I think, because she’ll have all the more accountability to herself if she is also helping others stay consistent. She has the same motivation to enlist people she’s supporting to become coaches – as everyone who has some accountability to someone else has a better chance of success. That’s a success link, and that’s the power of this network!
===================================================
The bottom line is: Thank you all for helping us get the word out. When you talk to people about this opportunity, ask them what they want to achieve. Explore with them how being a coach can help them achieve their success. And know that this business model is a real service to people, rewarding them for their hard work and inspiration by paying them when their results create demand for Beachbody programs.
The Beachbody Revolution is here. The momentum is exciting. And it’s only happening thanks to your hard work and care for getting people healthy and fit. I'm getting my signing pen ready to sign those certificates of achievement for coaches who signed up someone this week. Everybody Gets One that gets one!
"Everybody Gets One" kicked off with calls all day Monday and most of Tuesday.

===================================================

When Sharing the Beachbody Opportunity, "No thanks" means "Not yet"
We've all heard the stats:
> Over 100 million people in this country are obese.
> Another 100 million are overweight.
> Deaths related to obesity are the #2 killer in the US, and soon to achieve the distinction of #1.
So when a Beachbody Coach offers to help someone who is not involved in a fitness and nutrition program and they say "No", I think they're really saying "Not yet."
The challenge is to turn "Not yet" into "Now".
Beachbody Coaches are so resilient in their crusade to help people. They do their workouts. They plan their food and supplement strategies. And they share the message with someone every day: "I am experiencing how health is achieved. When you're ready I'll help you."
Someone can say "no" or "not yet" to that, but as life passes them by because they lack the strength, energy or perhaps confidence to really live, at some point that person will realize that the solution already presented itself in that invitation from their coach.
What has been missing from every other program they ever tried was the combination of a good fitness and food plan with the support to stay with it. When they remember the helpful coach who offered to help them that "no" turns into "now".
The other day I was on a phone call where an experienced network marketer was telling me that you need the "best salespeople to succeed" because the priority has to be making money - that's the driver to network marketing.
When it comes to Beachbody, I had to respectfully disagree. Salesmanship is what you need to sell a product one time. Sell one person one thing, move on to the next. Beachbody is not about salesmanship, it is about creating relationships by caring enough about people and their potential for a better life. And when you combine the truth about health and fitness with enthusiasm, you create that relationship, and sales... All because you care. Our coaches create lasting relationships that are productive, healthy and profitable.
Earning an income is not evil. It is an important motivator - in fact it's the motivation that got me into the best shape of my life. If I didn't think my photos would be valuable to the launch of Power 90 and P90X, I would have never pushed it so hard to get those results. That motivation got me healthy. Creating the Coach network is my attempt to see if people want to tap into that same money motivation that I had. "Become a walking billboard for what's possible, be there to help them succeed, and they'll want to buy some of what you've got!"
When it comes to sharing this system of exercise, good nutrition and peer support, what makes me comfortable to write about it in this blog and share this system with anyone I speak to is the fact that I KNOW WITH 100% CONVICTION that what we offer is the fastest path to a long-term healthy lifestyle on the market. Better than all the diet books combined. Better than gastric bypass surgery. Better than whatever cleanse is popular this summer. Less expensive and more efficient than equipment and gym memberships alone. This program works and it's healthy. And I want as many people as possible to tap into it.
I get so worked up when I realize that these crazy DVD's and simple food programs really will solve this obesity trend within five years. And it's all thanks to the community of people with the biggest heart you could find. That's how this is so different than the other MLM's - this is people helping people, not people selling juice.
If you are interested in helping people, and you wonder if you need to learn how to sell to be a Beachbody Coach, all I ask is that you show people you care, and the business will grow. And here's another tip: You don't need to find people who can sell to help you build your business. You need to find people who have the courage to show they care as much as you do.
Care like that this week, and if someone who listens to you talk about this thing called Beachbody and the power of "Play, Shake & Share" says "no thanks," hear it as "not yet". Because one day when they're ready to achieve their transformation, you'll still be there for them, and "not yet" becomes "now!"
That's how we'll grow to a force of one million caring coaches, and that's how we'll help over 100 million people make health and fitness a priority in their lives.
To every Beachbody Coach, know that every day, and every conversation matters... because every person matters. YOU HAVE THE SOLUTION!

Play, Shake and Share
If you want to get healthy, lose weight, and build a business for yourself without having to invest a lot of money, read this post.
At least one email a day hits my inbox from someone with a new concept for recruiting new people into the Beachbody Revolution. New advertising campaign ideas, institutional opportunities, and even acquisition concepts. Every idea has merit, but none are as powerful as the powerful force driving this outreach: People talking directly to people they know in order to get them started on the sure-fire solution; Exercise, good nutrition, and peer support.
This is the best of what network marketing can be, where people talk to people with the intent to help them succeed, and in turn help others do the same. High volume, high touch. Incredible results.
That's what we're doing. And for those that stay focused on building a business based on that, the opportunity is proving especially compelling.
Babak Azad is one of our VP's at the company, and he sent me an email over the weekend reminding me how, when every other infomercial company was selling "easy", Beachbody broke the mold by telling it how it is: Losing weight takes work. He compared that message to the opportunity we and our coaches have not to look for the easy way out, but to instead celebrate that if you want to build an opportunity as a coach, you need to work the program and talk to people. Just like health, when it comes to building an income stream, there is no magic pill, and no free ride.
Hard work pays off. It doesn't have to be complex. (In fact complexity is a sure way to frustrate your efforts). It has been my experience that the people who keep it simple and simply "share their success" are the ones who see the reward, both in body transformation and life transformation.
That's why I am focusing so much of my attention promoting the concept of Play, Shake & Share, where you get results, and your journey serves as a role model to inspire people around you.
Play -- Exercise at least 20 times every 30 days
Shake -- Drink a meal replacement shake like Shakeology everyday and improve your overall nutrition.
Share -- Work at building your Beachbody business by sharing it with people. Listen and learn what stands in the way of people getting results. Help them see how Play, Shake & Share can help them succeed. (That builds your business, and keeps your eye on the ball of your own body-transformation... not so easy to dig a fist into a bag of M&M's when I'm representing that this program works.)
For me, the "Play" aspect has been a couple Ten Minute Trainer's a day and an hour walk with my baby son in the Bjorn. I drink a shake a day. For the last few months, I switched from our Beachbody Meal Replacement in order to be the primary guinea pig for our new uber-shake in development called "Shakeology". A year ago I asked our nutrition development team to formulate something that would help me get the nutrition I am missing (I cannot stand vegetables. Truly. I am like a five year old. Don't know why, just can't stomach them). So Shakeology was formulated to give me a whole food source of what I was missing and just plain give me a burst of healthy stuff in at least one meal a day. While some people will spend over $6 on a Jamba Juice or a frozen Frappa-cappuccino thing at Starbucks, I wanted a shake that I could truly consider my healthiest meal of the day even if it cost me $12 a serving. And what they came up with is remarkable. I personally believe it is why I haven't gotten sick through the last 30 days of intense newborn-sleep-deprivation. I'm "regular" like sunrise, my calorie intake is steady, and everything about my health is better. The days I don't drink Shakeology, I miss it. We're launching the clinical study/test group in a few weeks, and expect to bring the product to market in early fall.
The bottom line to all this is, if you want results, the tools are there. It's time to work for it. Work the program. You want to be lean this summer, you need to put a DVD into the machine and mash that play button 20 times every 30 days. You need to eat right. That means no skipping breakfast, and no eating too late in the day. Intake calories steadily throughout the day. A shake is great way to do that without a lot of math. And if you want to give yourself a fighting chance to stick with it this time; Share it. Surround yourself with people doing the same thing. Ignite them to get healthy! And they will keep you on track.
My goal is that Beachbody and its coaches reverse this trend of obesity, and get people to make health a priority. (That includes me.) I am convinced this is how we're going to do it. I need people around me who will support that goal with hard work and courage.
I've said I want to sign up a million coaches... I need to clarify that: The goal is not just to sign-up a million coaches -- but to get a million coaches who will help get a hundred or more people healthy -- that's over 100 million people who will find the answer and feel better. THAT'S SUCCESS.
And in the world of government health insurance initiatives, corporate wellness programs, fitness gimmicks and pharmaceuticals, all which are grasping at a magic mass-solution, who would imagine that the basic concept of combining Exercise, Good Nutrition, and Peer Support would be the answer? I would.
Play, Shake & Share.
It's going to take passion to get that message out there. It's going to take patience. And it's going to take work. If you're willing to do the work, I want you on the team. You'll get healthy. And You'll get others healthy. And we'll share the rewards.

Funny aside on Shakeology; One of the main contributors to helping create that formulation was my wife, Isabelle. She has spent her career providing nutrition, fitness, and training advice to professional athletes, big time executives, and even rock stars who need to detox when they come off the road. She's the most voracious information junkie I've ever witnessed, and highly skeptical of anything "new" unless it is based on decades or even centuries of use. (Ironic that she married me, a guy who thinks pizza is a food group) She's so disciplined about nutrition that she recently called EVERY health food store and manufacturer of baby-formula she could find on the internet to find one with no preservatives or so-called "bad stuff" to help her supplement breast milk. This went on for days, asking stock boys to read ingredient labels to her over the phone. She couldn't find any one that she liked 100%. One day we needed to supplement baby-Danny (he's a heavy drinker) with a formula, so we used the best one she found. Well, you'd think I was making him an arsenic martini. So the fact that she not only put her stamp of approval on Shakeology, but actually makes my shake for me on the weekend means this stuff is top shelf healthy.I push play, I take my shake, and I talk to people all day long to share this opportunity.
The bottom line to all this is, if you want results, the tools are there. It's time to work for it. Work the program.
