The Simple Things, like "Killer Abs"

As complex as life can be, it's the simple things that add the color. I look forward to my Saturday morning with the latest issue of Business Week. I know that every night I get "my time" with the baby he's going to give me his laugh when I hold him upside down by his feet. And I love the monthly anticipation of what's going to show up on my doorstep with the next One-On-One issue. (And yes, I get it mailed to me just like everybody else)

I know the title, I've seen the promo, but until you put one of these babies into the player and take Tony on as he's goes through his personal routine, you're just collecting workouts. The last shipment was Road Warrior, an intense twist on Power 90 3-4 with some abs that made me cry like a 3 month old. (Oh, wait, maybe that actually was my 3 month old.)

September it's "Killer Abs". Killer Abs?... Killer? Will it just hurt or will it actually kill us? Or will my abs look so fabulous they shall simply end anyone who dare to gaze upon my six-packiness? Maybe a combo of all that.

Tony, Mason, and rockmaestro Jason Scheff are creating something special with these routines. If you have yet to subscribe, you don't know how close you can feel to America's #1 trainer until you get on his monthly program.

And I understand that in an upcoming shipment we're dropping a free preview DVD of Chalene's new extreme program which takes a cutting-edge approach to monthly phasing to get super-cut. You're only getting that preview if you're a One-on-One subscriber.

Like I said, it's the simple things right? I doubt we can classify Killer Abs as simple. But, it's wondering just what Tony's going to do and if I can keep up that adds a layer of fun to my workouts which keeps me interested. Nice work Tony!

And when they bring it, it shall get brung.

Manic Monday and Super Tuesday

Wow! Once again I am blown away at the energy and passion of our coaches. I feel like I am sitting on a powder keg watching the fuse burn away as it approaches the barrel and this baby is about to explode! "5...4...3...2..."

"Everybody Gets One" kicked off with calls all day Monday and most of Tuesday.
================================================
We got started a little after 8AM when Milan Jensen brought in Marvin, who used to love fitness, fell off, and then five years ago decided to get back into shape with kickboxing and martial arts. He started coaching people, became and instructor, and then found P90X. Marvin is helping celebrities and the regular Joe alike, considering now making fitness and health his life’s work as a coach.

Richard Dafter brought along super star Mike Bent and his fiancee Ronda, and Brian. We talked about how great this opportunity is for students. Richard, a single father, loves how this is a great opportunity to give him flexibility to earn an income and still spend time with his young kids.

Dee McClanton is determined to help motivate people as she is on her way to both losing over 120 lbs and making the coach opportunity her way to build the family income. She knows her “why” and is determined to make this healthy business a success!

Tammie Fitzgerald and Clarissa (missmac) had a great call where we talked about the importance of not “selling” but instead finding out what a person wants to achieve. Selling “fitness and healthy eating” is an uphill battle. But when you simply talk to people about what they want to achieve, there is a way to get them to WANT to participate. It's not about the product or the program, it's about having a life you love to live!

Anne Anderson and I talked about motivation. The tough part of being a coach is being misunderstood, where some people just don’t get the vision. That’s when we discussed how when you transform your body, everyone around you wants to know how you did it. When they find out it was with a fitness and eating plan that cost less than $200, they’ll want to do it to. If that results in sales, don’t you deserve your share of the income? We think you do, and that’s we launched this network; to give the people who do the hard work of pursuing fitness and health the reward for inspiring others.

Steve Thorson is fired up about the program, and brought John, a “Chicago” fan from Virginia Beach on the line to get a bunch on board during the “Everybody Gets One Week.” These guys are getting out there to spread the word, and getting themselves in position to make big things happen when the concept of the Beachbody Revolution reaches its tipping point. Beachbody customer complaints about fitness disappear when people see the kind of results they can get with these programs in a matter of weeks and for less than the price of a couple personal training sessions.

Kristy McLean is all about turning her $10,000 prize into a groundswell of enthusiasm for results and opportunity. She gets it that success sells, and whenever one of her contacts buys a Beachbody program, she knows that will inspire tens if not hundreds more to do what it takes to enjoy an energetic and healthy life.

Mary is a new coach in Georgia under powerhouses Linda and Vince. Mary is already ready to “get one” this week, which I appreciate so much! And since the southeast of the US needs this program the most statistically, coaches like Mary will be key to turning things around. No one said it would be easy, but when it happens, it’s going to be big!

Mike Bent, Wayne brought on four prospects Melissa, Whitney, and Robert and John. They simply get it. These are busy people, who like the idea of helping people. I love that. These are the kind of people who will continue the solid foundation of “people helping people” that launched the Beachbody coach network.

Suzy Stauffer brought YMCA trainer Johnny to a call. Here’s a guy who is already helping people get fit and healthy, and now he has the chance of turning it into a real cash-flow generator by scaling his business into something that doesn’t limit his income by the hours he works. Instead, his income is only limited by the people he helps.

Sharon Walker in Austin is working on bringing the owner of a country club in Austin that has a huge fitness program into the fold. They are looking at incorporating what we do into their club to expand their influence outside of their geographic audience and giving their internal trainers an additional source of revenue.

Jared Keo called to get questions answered. In week 10 of P90X, he’s getting noticed by personal trainers who are learning from him that it’s less productive counting reps for a few clients a day than it is to help hundreds of customers by motivating them to use proven Beachbody programs that work in the comfort of your own home!

Chris was invited to the call by Howard Garcia. Timing matters to Chris, but he is determined to get to the top of the compensation plan if he gets involved. Both these guys see how marketing a product that helps people like fitness and portion control can have a dramatic, if not game-changing potential (and the customer-lead program doesn’t hurt in the process!)

Kim Hopkins has been in network marketing, and been hesitant to talk about this opportunity with friends and family. She got fired up along with her friend Della, both nurses, who now see that for the first time, they can get compensated based on how many people they help a week, versus how many hours they worked.

A solid contingent from Las Vegas got on the phone both the remember the great work Tom Harper did for Team Beachbody, and to look for ways to recapture their enthusiasm. One thing I know is, Tom was about going for it with absolute enthusiasm to help people and make things happen. I could sense that Denise, Paula, Larry and Juan have what it takes to get friends, and friends of friends to tap into this healthy lifestyle. Now is the time. You have incredible potential to help so many people and enjoy the rewards of an incredible organizational position as we battle our way to the tipping point. Don’t squander this guys, Tom would expect more from everyone – so now is the time to ramp it up!

Annie and Carrie braved the traffic in Orange County over the weekend, and came back for more today. Sounds like they get the importance of momentum, and they’ve got what it takes to take their passion for fitness and spread the word.

Kim Haru was wondering about advice for new coaches. She’s a nutrition major in a perfect position to get incredible results with P90X, and inspire all those students who want to have a body to show off at Spring Break that she’s got the answer.

MySpace friends Elizabeth and Carrie called to find out how to get their coaches pumped up. We discovered together that the LAST thing we need to do is pump people up. Getting excited about being successful is like a Vegas wedding – the commitment fades with the excitement. REAL commitment comes with deciding you want to achieve something, and directing your energy at achieving it. We are all busy. If you want to be successful in fitness or in earning an income, you need to "get unbusy" with the stuff that is not moving you toward your goal, and commit to action that will absolutely lead you toward your goal, inch by inch, day by day.

Yvette and Christine a new coach got on the phone to ask what steps a new coach should go through to get off on the right fit. I gave the same answer to them I gave to Meredith Gelfand and then Kri’stina Kyle: Instead of handing out cards and talking just about your results, you need to find out what your prospect wants to achieve, and discuss whether Beachbody and/or being a coach might be the answer to get it. Ask questions, and you will hear how you can help people. There’s no convincing necessary, just real caring and problem solving!

Also, there was a question about whether this business is a pyramid scam. That one always makes me laugh because we couldn’t be further from it. When you work your butt off for 90 days to get results and those results inspire people around you to buy the program, does Beachbody deserve to keep all the money or do you deserve a reward for being the inspiration in the first place? And if that friend you inspired becomes a coach and starts selling tons of product because they got great results, does Beachbody deserve to keep all the money for that effort, or do you deserve a share of the revenue since you brought your friend in first? I think if we kept all the money for your effort, THAT would be the scam. This is people helping people get healthy, and that’s the most productive and fair business model I have ever heard of.

Anne Dovel sent Ron to get some inside tips on signing people up, and it looks good that he’ll sign up some coaches from the local school district.

Leo is a Turbokick instructor and called because he was encountering a road block.

Richard Dafter invited coach Bernie Smith to a call, who told me how he knows tons of doctors, which led to the description of how Kathy Smith’s “Project: You for type 2” diabetics is the perfect product for the medical community to treat diabetes beyond medication. If I were a coach I would be speaking to as many doctors and nurses as possible!

Randy Watson is part of the Fitzgerald-Dovel juggernaut, and has turned up the heat this last month, signing up almost 20 coaches in the last two weeks – that’s in a town of just 13,000! His secret: Just reach out to people and help them solve their problems. This guy is so on board that he is giving a box of peanut butter bars to any of his coaches who sign up a coach during Everybody Gets one Week! Love that teamwork Randy!

Rachel, Matt and Laran, asked how to be a coach, and then Michelle Moy and prospective coach Sherri asked what being a coach means. I think it’s a three stepped responsibility: You help people be accountable to their goal to get healthy and fit; be compassionate if they struggle and help them get back on track; and if they need extra motivation to succeed, show them how the financial incentive of being a coach can help keep anyone on track to stay interested in getting results with the Beachbody programs.

Those were all the Monday calls. Tuesday started at 9AM, and talk about going for it -- Judy Rangel brought Rochelle Guriba to the phone while she was sitting in the dentist chair! That fit right into my premise that at one time in our history, using a tooth brush every day was a new concept. Now every body brushes (I hope). Same thing now for exercise; It may be a completely new concept to most of the US, but my goal is that within the next couple years we’ll change all that, so the people who don’t work out are the rarity.

Next were P90X graduate Michael, new coach Cass, Perry, Joel (May 2007 success story), and MMA fighter Brad who is training over 60 clients. Brad offered his clients the option of working out with DVD program at home and the option of building an income from it. This group is going places!

Beachbody standout Maria Nevarez is back on track with her own Play, Shake and Share program, and using the bulk emailer tool to get things started with customers who may have given up. And while she dislikes pushing people (who doesn't?), she's another coach who can see a huge opportunity with trainers struggling in her area who would like an additional source of income.

Jeff Dostal and Van Coker like the fact that they can get in better shape, make some money, and not have to buy a lot of inventory. Van wants to have his energy back and enjoy his grand kids. With our annual advertising budget, we’re out there spreading the message, and the coach's job is to talk it up. Jeff told me a story of a guy who runs 3 miles a day who was a convert to the Ten Minute Trainer after just one workout!

Kelly Ryan and Ali called from Bakersfield. They both have friends who would be interested in the kinds of results that Kelly and her husband have gotten. She continues to inspire everyone around her, and I think Ali will be the next to inspire many people if she signs up to be a coach!

Mike Beinlich, Rick Haggard and Bob Raypole from Florida got on the phone to get some input on how to maximize the business. Rick has lost over 40 lbs with our programs and is a walking billboard for the potential of these programs, and Bob is an experienced network marketing looking for an opportunity which is a solid long term bet. I know he found it in the Beachbody Revolution!

Joseph Petri brought Heidi in as a prospect from upstate NY, a college professor who is going to continue to build on the powerhouse that is starting to bubble in the Rochester area.

And the last call of the morning was Lisa MacAnespie-Tucker, part of a new coach in a leg that is picking up momentum. She is a former gymnast who wants to coach at the same time that she works on her own transformation. That’s the best time to be a coach I think, because she’ll have all the more accountability to herself if she is also helping others stay consistent. She has the same motivation to enlist people she’s supporting to become coaches – as everyone who has some accountability to someone else has a better chance of success. That’s a success link, and that’s the power of this network!

===================================================
The bottom line is: Thank you all for helping us get the word out. When you talk to people about this opportunity, ask them what they want to achieve. Explore with them how being a coach can help them achieve their success. And know that this business model is a real service to people, rewarding them for their hard work and inspiration by paying them when their results create demand for Beachbody programs.

The Beachbody Revolution is here. The momentum is exciting. And it’s only happening thanks to your hard work and care for getting people healthy and fit. I'm getting my signing pen ready to sign those certificates of achievement for coaches who signed up someone this week. Everybody Gets One that gets one!

Everybody Gets One!

This is the week for bringing in more people to help us get the word out about the revolutionary system of health and fitness that is Beachbody. If you're a coach, it's time to mobilize -- EVERY COACH BRINGS IN ONE COACH!

My motivation this week to spread the word is more intense than ever... I spent the weekend learning how to surf with a friend from college and his family. All I can say is - "THANK YOU TEAM BEACHBODY!" If it weren't for Beachbody and the people who help keep us all motivated to do the hard thing of pushing play, no way would I have been able to not only learn how to ride the waves, but catch 14 of them in a day! More than that though -- as sore as I was the day after, I would have been a complete dish rag if my body didn't have a foundation of fitness first.

Life is so much more amazing when you try new stuff. Sure TV can be very entertaining, and there is always something tasty waiting to be eaten. But when something new and incredible like riding a wave or boogie boarding with my daughter presents itself, having the fitness to enjoy it for five solid hours is worth every WOWY workout, every disciplined food choice.

I know many of you coaches get what I am talking about. And that's why I hope you turn up the heat this week, and help someone you know get into this too! The Beachbody Revolution starts now. We need you to find someone who has the drive to spread the word with us this week! And there's a trip to Mexico up for grabs if we hit our numbers! (See below)

Let's do this, and let's spread the word that there's a lot to life if you have the health and fitness to enjoy it!

10,000 Coaches and counting!

We have reached a very significant milestone: Yesterday we recruited the 10,000 coach in the Beachbody Coach Network! Congratulations to all our coaches who are driving this initiative forward, and capitalizing on the incredible demand for helping people make health and fitness a priority.

My goal is to build a network of one million coaches within five years. We needed to get to 10,000 first - and here we are ahead of schedule!

But this no time to sit back and celebrate, it's time to "hammer down". Monday the 18th starts “Every Body Gets One Week”, where we're asking every coach to reach out aggressively and do what it takes to recruit one coach that week. And if we recruit over 1,000 coaches by the 24th, every coach who participated by bringing in a coach will have a chance to come with us on the Top Coach trip to Mexico to the Riviera Maya next March. And if you recruit a coach and one of YOUR personally sponsored coaches wins that trip, you will be invited on the trip as well. (That means to have the best chance to win you want to do two things: (1) Make sure you recruit a new coach the week of the 18th, (2) motivate all your personally sponsored coaches to recruit at least one coach next week.

And in the spirit of "Every Body Gets One" week, I will be hand signing this certificate of achievement to everyone who supports this promotion by bringing in a coach between the 18th and 24th.

So let's take a moment, feel good about hitting this big 10,000-coach milestone, and then it’s back to work to push toward "Every body gets one" the week of the 18th!

Manic Monday

What a day! 40-something calls between 8AM and 7PM!

Thanks to everyone who took me seriously and rallied the troops to sign into WOWY for our workout this morning and hit the phones on our first Manic Monday!

It didn’t hurt to start the day by reading a story in the paper that the Philadelphia Eagles are using P90X to prepare for the 2008 football season. That pumped everybody up, and then we hit the phones.

I hope to see everybody in WOWY at 6AM PT Tuesday morning, and then again at 6PM PT for the brand new webinar.

In the meantime, check out the sizzling action our coaches stirred up today. (I apologize in advance for any deletions or misspellings in what is probably my longest blog post ever.)
========================================================
We got started right at 8AM with Anjanette Bonham, who is on her way to Emerald by showing other stay-at-home moms that Beachbody has the programs that deliver real body transformation. She knows that Beachbody holds the prospect of an additional income for anyone willing to put in the work to make it happen.

Then I met Dennis Jones, a new Diamond coach who has signed a whopping twelve - count 'em, twelve - new coaches and opened a new center in Las Vegas with three meetings a week! WOW!

A Beachbody customer, Tricia Stanton called while I was on with a coach, Sheryl Oeftering, so she ended up speaking with Kevin Sherman. He got her so pumped she called back later ready to sign up!

Efren from Jason Scheff's organization called and told me he's down from 380 lbs to 240 lbs! Talk about inspiration. That's the kind of coach that prove it's possible!

Tammie Fitzgerald brought Menach from New York via conference call. He's tearing it up in week six of P90X and seriously considering the coach opportunity. (If you're going to inspire the people around you with your transformation, why not reap the rewards? That’s the point of this thing – (1) transform your health and fitness, (2) people around you want to do it too, (3) you deserve to earn the revenue!)

Mirdzah Hayden called to discuss how to kick her business into a higher gear, and hung up ready to motivate people to get in shape and earn an extra income.

Shawn Marie called while I was on with Entrepreneur Charles Mui and rolled over to Kevin. What a story she had, losing 54 pounds in 90 days to avoid gastric bypass surgery! Now she has a WOWY group of 65 and inspiring more people on Capital Hill to get involved every day! Meanwhile, Charles had called to “kick the tires” and learn more about what this thing is all about after hearing Mark McDermott speak over the weekend (clearly Mark is making things happen out there!)

Redfield Baum brought two prospects to his call, Paul and Daniel. (Sorry if I didn’t let you guys talk, but I was pumped at this point!)

Robert Hudgens introduced me to Iowan Tom Bord who is looking at the opportunity with patience and care. I totally support that, but also know that you never know how good the water feels until you actually jump in the pool! This opportunity is going to be big, and timing matters.

They’re “thinkin' in Lincoln”, as Doug Fitzgerald introduced me to marketing-wiz Jeff Dostal. They're signing people up, and no doubt those two are going to hatch a plot that will really expand the momentum in the heartland as they sounded like they were not going to let anything get in their way.

Haston Lowman achieved Emerald today, and is putting his heart into being a Beachbody coach with his upline Dennis Jones and uber coach Pete Pena. Haston says he has never had this much confidence talking to people to "help people get motivated to get paid to workout" since he got in shape.

Jake Hayes lost 30 pounds with P90X with the help of his wife and is working a breakthrough coaching idea for parents, kids and teens with the help of his upline, Traci Morrow.

Russ Herman, an exercise physiologist and coordinator for a corporate wellness company found P90X to get himself in shape and went from there to become a coach and spread the word when appropriate! There's a guy who's heart is in the right place.

Mike Bent called (while I was enjoying my chocolate Shakeology for the day). He brought in heavyweight Wayne Dorband, a consummate entrepreneur with a quite a bit of experience in network marketing and a ton of experience "doing well" by "doing good".

Monica Vargas is a huge Turbo Jam fan, and is also looking into how the Beachbody catalog might be of value to corporations, trainers, and chiropractors. Love that.

Brian Tass brought in wrestling coach and teacher Matt Prinz. These guys have unreal opportunity staring at them with the economic woes of teachers and labor in the Michigan area. They have the answer!

Marty Hughes, another teacher in Nebraska, went from 232lbs to 181lbs using P90X. And his wife went from a size 16 to a 4! He’s a former runner who just ran his first 5k in 13 years. He uses the Fit Kids Club program to get the kids moving in his school once a week. His goal is to bring in 100 coaches to help me achieve my one million coach goal. Thank you brother!

Current Top Coach, Milan Jensen called with Emily, Lisa, Elizabeth, Carrie, Maggie, and Kimberly – doing a six week push to "develop diamonds". They are stepping out of their comfort zone to talk to people. What’s driving them is an exercise called a “perfect day in my life” which was amazing to hear. Stay-at-home moms, people with dreams, excited to get their bodies back, and earn the income that will give their families the financial freedom they have always wanted... When we talk about what's "Revolutionary" about this, these women should be on the poster.

$250,000 Million Dollar Body winner Earl Broughman brought in sports retailer Todd Crawford who’s going to expand his business, get fit, and be a “product of the product” to get his body back. Can you say "no-brainer?"

Topeka, KS was represented by Emerald coach Alison Clayton and prospective coach Sandra Haines. One thing is clear, the obesity trend and the rough economy has little hope of hiding from the power of Team Genesis.

Fresh from Chalene Johnson’s Camp Turbo, Lynn Swanger put a call together with Meredith and Michael, three coaches who are in the right place at the right time as ChaLEAN Extreme gets ready to launch this fall. You three deserve success, so don't accept anything less!

Michelle Sweetland and I had a great conversation about how to rev up results, and then Amy Shaw described how she intends to work this business for the long haul in Ohio as fitness and helping people fight obesity is her true passion.

2007 Top Coach Blake Warrington showed he has an eye for talent by attracting Jim Smalley, a P90X customer-turned coach in Florida who is leveraging the combination of the tough economy and the 30-day money back guarantee to make the decision easy for people. These guys are a powerhouse.

Founding coach David Martin and Mary Jo Blackburn invited prospective coach Chris, a nurse and trainer, to become a coach. Could there be a better prospect to both help people understand the importance of health and fitness PLUS earn an income appropriate to the work she does by helping people? Teachers and health care workers all the way.

John Watson picked Scott Rupp to be his coach when he bought P90X. And now that the NY real estate market’s in the tank, John’s seriously considering turning his own doctor’s shock at his health results into a business opportunity for them both. That’s what I am talking about! Leverage your success into YOUR own opportunity! Then Scott brought David Goldsmith, an IT professional to the table who has the prospect of motivating both teachers and students in his area to get the kind of hardcore results he’s getting, first with Power 90, then with P90X.

Mike Graham is blazing his own trail in St. Louis, a market that can use both the health benefits of our program, plus the earning potential. Mike – I hope you lean into it and make things happen. Wesley Revels is doing the same thing in Kansas City, turning his enthusiasm for Ten Minute Trainer and P90X into a business that helps people. Great attitudes.

Chad Brake is a reading teacher and ruby coach under Angie McDonald who has found that at last, his desire to help people can be compensated in proportion to results. This opportunity seems to be exceptionally compelling to teachers for that very reason.

Cheri and Kyle and then Shawn, a mother and her sons are teaming up to leverage her degree in exercise science to promote this business opportunity and help college grads get healthy and pay down debt. (Apparently the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles and other pro teams are using our products to get in shape got Kyle’s attention).

The prospect invited by Wendy Tompkins (under Amy Hildreth of Biggest Loser fame) couldn’t make the call as planned, which was ok because it gave us a chance to talk tips and strategy.

Then I found out that Audrey Nichelson from Doug Couch’s organization is just three coaches from diamond, and is focused on turning her victory in the June Million Dollar Body Game into a run at the grand prize, and a huge motivator for her organization.

Judy Zavislak called to talk strategy and get specific updates on features and product development. She’s got six personally sponsored coaches, is on her way to diamond, and intends to get there by end of summer. (Ok... I sort of made her promise that part. But she can do it!)

Pat Schrader and Josh are working Georgia hard, attending job fairs, handing out DVD’s to prospects, and working hard to focus potential coaches on the importance of both retailing product and recruiting coaches. Remember – the products you represent are made famous on TV. Your job is to help people you know succeed with them, and get them to inspire others to do the same!

Clarissa McIntosh is working with school PTA’s to set-up online fundraising using the Beachbody Coach opportunity. I suggested health fairs where the parents learn about the products, where the school is the beneficiary. As we buy more and more advertising to promote the product line, we know people are going to buy these products; they might as well buy them in a way that benefits the PTA! (Better than another candy drive right?)

Raghee Horner, author and for/ex trader is working the Beachbody Revolution into her mix of stay-at-home business advice and maybe even a new book!

I got a great call from Lori Jantzi in Canada who has been a loyal Beachbody customer with no complaints since 2003. She’s not a coach (it’s not available in Canada yet) so she just snuck in to say hi. I like that.

And to cap it off, Tiffany Porter in Virginia asked how to help a trainer she knows who has been burned by other network marketing concepts, find her "go for it" with the coach network. My advice; When someone wants something bad enough, and they see all this proof around us that these programs work, and this business is working for people too, they either connect that to achieving their goals or they don't. There is so much demand for what we are offering, because the fitness and diet programs work every time they are applied as they were intended. Exercise, portion control, and the right supplements to help you. And once you succeed, people around you notice. That creates demand. People want to succeed. Our job is to keep pushing play, and keep sharing the opportunity.

So we're going to keep driving it. We're going to keep helping people. And with that, more people's lives will be transformed.

I'll see you in WOWY!

Manic Monday and Premier Tuesday

Now that we've "pimped out" the coach's online office with better tools to communicate with customers and downline coaches, I wanted to ask every coach to focus on generating WOWY workouts and coach sign-ups Monday August 4th and Tuesday the 5th.

MONDAY Aug 4th:
I have cleared my schedule for rallying the community and helping coaches!

1. I'll start the day with an "all-call" WOWY workout at 9AM ET/6AM PT. If you can be there, let's sweat! And invite everyone you can because the WOWY prize for Monday the 4th will be $1,000. So it's even more worthwhile to workout and get people signed-up to workout on the 4th!

2. The rest of the day Monday I will be at my desk jumping on calls with ANY coach who wants a "CEO-assist" to describe the Beachbody Coach opportunity. You can make an appointment for a 5-10 minute call between 11AM ET/8AM PT and 10PM ET/7PM PT by going to this sign-up tool and giving me a couple time options. Or if you don't know when you will have a prospect, you can just do your best to talk it up as often as possible Monday, and when you find someone with the right kind of desire and intent who recognizes the power of this opportunity, take the chance that the phone will be open and call me at 1(800) 806-0991 (The line will be live on Monday only). Kevin Sherman will be in stand-by to pick up any over-flow.

TUESDAY
1. We'll do another "all-call" WOWY workout Tuesday August, 5th at 9AM ET/6AM PT

2. Then Tuesday night we hope every coach and their prospects will log into our brand new opportunity webinar which will help you and your customers find the desire to succeed. That will happen at the normal 9PM ET/6PM PT and run about 20 minutes. You can start inviting prospects to the webinar so we have a packed house.

Let's Fire Up The Back-Office!
What I hope will happen right now is that you will use the coach online office email tools to communicate with your customers and coaches. Tell them about the two WOWY events and to look into your back office to see which of your customers might be inclined to step up and become a coach if we got on the phone with them together on Monday or to tune into the opportunity webinar premier on Tuesday.

Let's heat up your desire to bring in the next wave of people who will help us carry this message of health and prosperity out there. People are hurting physically and financially. They are out of shape, and have forgotten what it feels like to feel good. For anyone who wants control of their health and earning potential, it's time to take action with a system that's proven.

I look forward to an exciting couple of days of productivity with your help and courage to get the word out!

What Do You Want?

Anyone who has read Napoleon Hill's legendary book "Think And Grow Rich" or seen "The Secret" knows their underlying theme to getting what you want:

Focus your thought and action on a specific burning desire.

Mine is to build the Beachbody network to one million coaches and to help 100 million customers make health and fitness a priority in the next five years. I want to meet coaches who are financially independent wherever I go. I want to see a library of Beachbody training DVD's in homes all over the world. I want to hear people sharing tips on favorite workouts and see them making healthy food choices by habit and preference. 1 million coaches, 100 million customers.

What do YOU want? You want to be debt free? You want to quit your job? You want to look great in a swimsuit? What is your specific burning desire? What achievement could drive you to work harder, to turn off the TV, to wake up earlier, to eat better?

As we create new Beachbody training programs, coaching manuals, and as we develop marketing plans for the network and new products, the theme of "know why are you doing this" continues to be the primary theme: The people who are successful with the coaching business and/or a physical transformation are the ones who know what they want... they know their "why".

When discussing the financial potential of being a Beachbody coach and the weight loss potential of our programs, we can't make grand promises about potential outcome without stating the reality that "results vary" and that success follows consistent effort. The coaches who have bought big new houses and new cars or who have erased their personal debt are the ones who went at it with a specific focus on why it was worth it. The people who have gotten the most amazing results with P90X, Hip Hop Abs, Turbo Jam and Slim in 6 are the ones who knew their reason to stick with it, even when it was hard.

Here we are in the midst of a recession, and coaches are enjoying financial freedom for the first time in their lives. Despite a trend of obesity, our customers are getting into the best shape of their lives. Those who succeeded knew they wanted something specific, and went for it. Anyone who failed, failed because they had no reason NOT to quit. They weren't "bad" and they weren't weak, they simply forgot why they started in the first place, so they didn't lose anything by quitting.

You can have everything you want. Let me say that again for emphasis: YOU, can have everything that you want, if you take a moment and think of what it is, and document it. In the process of getting it, I promise you there will be challenges that confront your resolve. If you want something bad enough, nothing will get in your way, not even your prior habits or history.

Many people I talk to want to feel confident in their physical appearance. They want to be healthy, they want happy relationships, and they want complete financial freedom. It is expressed in different ways, but it usually comes down to those desires. When I hear people describe their wants, I can usually tell who is going to overcome their own fears and excuses to succeed.

We happen to be working in an area that is good for people in every way. The prices are reasonable. The benefits are completely healthy. The potential of higher self esteem, stronger health, compassionate community, and financial freedom is unrivaled. It has a price.

That price is a single-minded purpose and focused intent. As Michael Neimand said in a meeting the other day, "Nobody stumbles into success." I will have my success of one million coaches and 100 million customers. What's so exciting is, I will achieve mine by helping you achieve yours. You achieve yours by helping people you know achieve theirs.

But you need to take this first step; Find out what you want.

Answer that, and let's get started.

The NEXT One-on-One?

Yesterday the world joined hands and globally celebrated the fiftieth birthday of uber-trainer to the stars, Mr. Tony Horton. And yet he is the one who gave us a gift:

The release of "One on One workouts" with Tony Horton.

If you want to see Tony at his best, most intense, and least scripted, you've got to subscribe to the One-on-One workouts.

What happens is, every so often Tony calls up his buddy Mason Bendewald (director of P90X, etc.) and says "Mace, I just got a bunch of new rock and roll from Jason*, and I came up with a killer routine. Get your butt over here and let's shoot it."

Mason walks in, rolls camera, and Tony goes into "Bring It" mode, one-on-one style. It's intense, with a new one released each month.

If you're a member of TeamBeachbody.com, subscribe online asap so you make sure to get the very first workout, Plyo Legs. (non-members can purchase here... but why wouldn't you want to be a member of the coolest fitness community on the planet?)

And for all 5 people who read this blog, here is the first ever sneak peak at the next routine just created to ship for month two (August). They're all going to be classics!

Who says you can't push the boundaries? Honestly... this job is getting more fun by the week!

When Sharing the Beachbody Opportunity, "No thanks" means "Not yet"

We've all heard the stats:
> Over 100 million people in this country are obese.
> Another 100 million are overweight.
> Deaths related to obesity are the #2 killer in the US, and soon to achieve the distinction of #1.

So when a Beachbody Coach offers to help someone who is not involved in a fitness and nutrition program and they say "No", I think they're really saying "Not yet."

The challenge is to turn "Not yet" into "Now".

Beachbody Coaches are so resilient in their crusade to help people. They do their workouts. They plan their food and supplement strategies. And they share the message with someone every day: "I am experiencing how health is achieved. When you're ready I'll help you."

Someone can say "no" or "not yet" to that, but as life passes them by because they lack the strength, energy or perhaps confidence to really live, at some point that person will realize that the solution already presented itself in that invitation from their coach.

What has been missing from every other program they ever tried was the combination of a good fitness and food plan with the support to stay with it. When they remember the helpful coach who offered to help them that "no" turns into "now".

The other day I was on a phone call where an experienced network marketer was telling me that you need the "best salespeople to succeed" because the priority has to be making money - that's the driver to network marketing.

When it comes to Beachbody, I had to respectfully disagree. Salesmanship is what you need to sell a product one time. Sell one person one thing, move on to the next. Beachbody is not about salesmanship, it is about creating relationships by caring enough about people and their potential for a better life. And when you combine the truth about health and fitness with enthusiasm, you create that relationship, and sales... All because you care. Our coaches create lasting relationships that are productive, healthy and profitable.

Earning an income is not evil. It is an important motivator - in fact it's the motivation that got me into the best shape of my life. If I didn't think my photos would be valuable to the launch of Power 90 and P90X, I would have never pushed it so hard to get those results. That motivation got me healthy. Creating the Coach network is my attempt to see if people want to tap into that same money motivation that I had. "Become a walking billboard for what's possible, be there to help them succeed, and they'll want to buy some of what you've got!"

When it comes to sharing this system of exercise, good nutrition and peer support, what makes me comfortable to write about it in this blog and share this system with anyone I speak to is the fact that I KNOW WITH 100% CONVICTION that what we offer is the fastest path to a long-term healthy lifestyle on the market. Better than all the diet books combined. Better than gastric bypass surgery. Better than whatever cleanse is popular this summer. Less expensive and more efficient than equipment and gym memberships alone. This program works and it's healthy. And I want as many people as possible to tap into it.

I get so worked up when I realize that these crazy DVD's and simple food programs really will solve this obesity trend within five years. And it's all thanks to the community of people with the biggest heart you could find. That's how this is so different than the other MLM's - this is people helping people, not people selling juice.

If you are interested in helping people, and you wonder if you need to learn how to sell to be a Beachbody Coach, all I ask is that you show people you care, and the business will grow. And here's another tip: You don't need to find people who can sell to help you build your business. You need to find people who have the courage to show they care as much as you do.

Care like that this week, and if someone who listens to you talk about this thing called Beachbody and the power of "Play, Shake & Share" says "no thanks," hear it as "not yet". Because one day when they're ready to achieve their transformation, you'll still be there for them, and "not yet" becomes "now!"

That's how we'll grow to a force of one million caring coaches, and that's how we'll help over 100 million people make health and fitness a priority in their lives.

To every Beachbody Coach, know that every day, and every conversation matters... because every person matters. YOU HAVE THE SOLUTION!

1 million and 100 million

We are going to reverse the trend of obesity.

It started the day we held the meeting to launch the network, and it caught on the moment we realized that our coaches understood that this was more than just a way to make some money. It is about three priorities: (1) YOU live healthy, (2) you help people around you live healthy, and (3) you recruit other people who will do the same.

The Beachbody system works 100% of time for those that follow it: Exercise, good nutrition, and peer support. 100% success. Our job together, is to turn that message into action and then habit, not by trying to get thousands at a time, but one person at a time.

Let there be no mistake in this statement, and no room for misinterpretation: Team Beachbody is going to reverse the trend of obesity by building a network of one million coaches, and those coaches will help 100 million people make health and fitness a priority in their lives.

If it is possible to recruit one coach, who gets great results with our system, who then inspires twenty more to do the same, it's possible to recruit a million coaches, who as a team will supercharge the message with their success and inspire 100 million others.

In five years, people will say "Exercise, nutrition and people helping people... How obvious."

Meanwhile, Team Beachbody and its coaches are the ones who see the potential now, and the ones who will turn that elegantly simple potential into the "obvious" reality.

We need leaders to achieve this; Bright, compassionate people who are willing to make the time to live healthy, and help others. How many of the million coaches will you personally bring to the revolution, and how many of the 100 million customers? How many will it be this week? How many conversations will you have today?

One million coaches. 100 million customers. The Beachbody Revolution has begun.

Heads Up Canada (and the US)

I love Canada. I have vacationed in Ontario almost every year of my life since I was born, enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery and people around. My wife is from Canada. Canada is like a second home to me.

So, many are wondering why it's taking so long for us to get the Beachbody Coach network opportunity launched into Canada. The bottom line is, the legal hurdles are significant. I bring that up today so, if you happen to be Canadian, to call your attention to some legislation which will only make it harder for us to launch into Canada because nutrition is an important aspect of our approach to a healthy lifestyle.

See the following article, which was orinigally posted on J.M. Mercola's site, a pretty helpful resource for a naturalist's view on health topics.

This was the headline: "Vitamin C About to be Made Illegal in Canada"
What if, just for taking vitamin C, you could be thrown in jail for up to 2 years and fined up to $5,000,000? That scenario could very well soon become a reality in Canada. The Canadian Government is trying to pass a bill known as Bill C51. According to some interpretations of the bill, it would remove all supplements from over-the-counter availability, by only allowing Medical Doctor’s to prescribe them as they see fit. This would mean that if you wanted to take a multivitamin, you would have to book an appointment with your doctor and try to convince your doctor that you are in need of these supplements. If your doctor decides a certain drug would be better for you, then you won't have access to your supplements of choice anymore.

Consequences of the bill could include:
> No more supplement stores

> Supplements made illegal unless obtained through a prescription; 70 percent of all current supplements on the market could be removed
> Fines of up to $5,000,000.00 and/or 2 years in jail per incident of being caught breaking this law

These are Dr. Mercola's Comments: After hours of cross-checking, I must admit, I’m still a bit confused about its true potential ramifications. In reading the proposed law itself (for the full act see this link), the statements above appear to be potentially accurate interpretations. Ditto on the dire predictions made by Stop51.com. And, although the Canadian government’s site Healthy Canadians claims that none of the above statements are true, it offers very little in terms of guidance on just how and why the law doesn’t mean what it says.

Why Should Americans Care?
If you’re one of the millions of people in Canada, the United States or Mexico, who has never heard of the Trilateral Union, the North American Union (NAU), or Codex, I’m afraid you may be in for a quite a surprise. But don’t feel bad, neither of our respective governments or major media outlets are speaking publicly or frankly about these plans.

These issues are far too broad and deep to go into in this article, but they are the reasons why you should care about this law passing in Canada, even if you don’t live there now – because in the foreseeable future the borders between our three countries might disappear.

If you’re reading this newsletter you obviously have access to the internet, so just Google “North American Union” or “Codex” and you’ll get more than 74.6 million and 13 million hits respectively on these two topics. You can also search my website for previous articles on Codex and what these international food and supplement standards may mean for the future of nutritional supplements. If being an informed citizen matter to you, don’t let these topics slip under your radar – they have the power to change our respective countries and our ways of life in more ways than you could imagine.

What Does Codex Have to Do With C-51?
To answer that question we have to back up a couple of paces and start with a quick explanation of what Codex is. The Codex Alimentarius Commission, conceived by the United Nations in 1962, was birthed through a series of relationships between The World Health Organization (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the World Trade Organization (WTO) as well as the American FDA and USDA. The Codex Alimentarius itself is a compilation of food standards, codes of practice and guidelines that specify all requirements related to foods (whether processed, semi-processed, genetically engineered, or raw). Their purpose is to protect consumers’ health, ensure fair business practices within the food trade, and eliminate international food trade barriers by standardizing food quality.

Sounds good in theory, right?
However, the two most potentially dangerous prospects of Codex are: 1) these standards are being devised as international rules intended for world-wide adoption, and 2) Codex has classified nutrients as toxins.

Yes, toxins. That’s not a misprint.
The Codex Commission decided—with the support of the United States—to use something called Risk Assessment, which assesses the maximum level of a substance – in this case a nutrient -- that may be ingested without causing any discernable biological effect.

Did you get that one? Let me explain further.
Risk Assessment is a branch of Toxicology, a.k.a. the science of toxins (as opposed to the science of nutrition). In a sane world, it is used to assess how much of a toxic substance you can safely eat without noticing any physical effects or problems. As soon as there is a biological effect, you have hit the upper, maximum limit for that substance.

Codex is slowly but surely shimmying into position to mandate the universal maximum “safe” level of every vitamin, mineral, supplement and herb that may legally be manufactured, used or sold -- with “safe” being a level that has no physical effect.

So, what does this have to do with Canada’s potential adoption of C-51?
Well, C-51 also amends the Canadian law to allow trade agreements to become law without Parliamentary approval, and for the regulation to incorporate documents produced by a foreign state or subdivision of a foreign state.

What that means is that the Codex treaty could become Canadian law without Parliamentary approval simply by passing a regulation saying it is now part of the Canadian regulations.
If the Codex rules become the law of the land in Canada, the safety of supplements might become judged on the toxicology scale, and if Canada has these laws in place when the NAU becomes reality – guess what? The U.S. and Mexico may have little choice but to fall under the same umbrella of laws and standards.

And, even if you refuse to believe that the North American Union will ever take place, passing similar, potentially restricting natural health laws in the U.S. will be a whole lot easier if Canada sets the precedent.

The Fine Art of Double-Speak
The Canadian law, known as C-51, was introduced by the Canadian Minister of Health on April 8th, 2008, proposing far-reaching changes to Canada's Food and Drugs Act. The question on everyone’s mind is whether or not it might have devastating consequences on the health products industry.

According to the government website Healthy Canadians, Canadians will continue to have access to natural health products that are safe, effective and of high quality, and claims that:
Natural health products will not be regulated as pharmaceutical drugs; they will continue to be regulated under their own regulations - separate from drugs and foods.
Bill C-51 will not increase the costs of natural health products.
Bill C-51 does not regulate growing an herb garden.
Bill C-51 does not target practitioners who compound products for their patients.
Bill C-51 does not target Canadians' personal use of natural health products.
Health food stores will not require a special license to sell natural health products.
Canadians will not require a prescription from a doctor for natural health products.
However, the site also makes somewhat confusing statements like:
“Under Bill C-51 the term ‘therapeutic products' encompasses a range of products sold for therapeutic purposes, including drugs, medical devices, biologics, and natural health products. This does not change the classification of a natural health product nor impose additional requirements.”

Personally, I’ve not been able to sort out why or how a natural health product -- if now lumped together with drugs under the term ‘therapeutic products’ -- would not change its classification, and why they would not have to abide by the same rules as all other ‘therapeutic products.’

The Power of Words
One of the most opposed changes is this radical alteration to key terminology, including replacing the word "drug" with "therapeutic product,” which is the same term used for all natural products as well.

To get a better idea of the many questions and confusing pitfalls this law change brings to fore, I recommend reading the NHPPA Draft Discussion Paper on Bill C-51.

Clearly, I’m not the only one who can’t make heads or tails out of this legislative doublespeak, and the paper (written by a defense attorney specializing in the Food and Drugs Act) succinctly points out the power of language and key words in legislative debate.

For example, the old definition of “sell” is:
“includes the offer for sale, expose for sale, have in possession for sale and distribute, whether or not the distribution is made for consideration.”

That’s clear. In fact, I think most of us have a decent idea of what “selling” means. The NEW definition of “sell,” however, opens the door for a very broad interpretation: “includes offer for sale, expose for sale or have in possession for sale, or distribute to one or more persons, whether or not the distribution is made for consideration and in relation to a device, includes lease, offer for lease, expose for lease or have in possession for lease.” Now, what’s the reason for redefining the meaning of the word “sell” to include the simple act of “distributing to one or more persons”? Who does this new meaning benefit? Who does this now include that was not included before? Why the need for such a broad definition?

In plain English, it appears the law now applies if I were to simply give something to another person for free, whether it’s a stranger or a family member.

More Questionable Interpretations
Another interesting rebuttal by the Canadian government is the issue of whether or not an inspector would be allowed to enter private property without permission or a warrant.
The Healthy Canadian site states, “Inspectors will not be able to enter a private home without permission or a warrant.”

And yet the law, Section 23 (4), clearly reads: An inspector who is carrying out their functions may enter on or pass through or over private property without being liable for doing so and without the owner of the property having the right to object to that use of the property.

Since when does “without the right to object” mean that they have to ask for permission or present a warrant?

What Can You Do?
I don’t pretend to know or understand the full potential implications of this proposed law. However, if -- after reading through the many source links I’ve included in this comment -- you believe that C-51 is a law that is not in your and your family’s best interest, you can make your voice heard by signing the StopC51 petition.

Play, Shake and Share

If you want to get healthy, lose weight, and build a business for yourself without having to invest a lot of money, read this post.

At least one email a day hits my inbox from someone with a new concept for recruiting new people into the Beachbody Revolution. New advertising campaign ideas, institutional opportunities, and even acquisition concepts. Every idea has merit, but none are as powerful as the powerful force driving this outreach: People talking directly to people they know in order to get them started on the sure-fire solution; Exercise, good nutrition, and peer support.

This is the best of what network marketing can be, where people talk to people with the intent to help them succeed, and in turn help others do the same. High volume, high touch. Incredible results.

That's what we're doing. And for those that stay focused on building a business based on that, the opportunity is proving especially compelling.

Babak Azad is one of our VP's at the company, and he sent me an email over the weekend reminding me how, when every other infomercial company was selling "easy", Beachbody broke the mold by telling it how it is: Losing weight takes work. He compared that message to the opportunity we and our coaches have not to look for the easy way out, but to instead celebrate that if you want to build an opportunity as a coach, you need to work the program and talk to people. Just like health, when it comes to building an income stream, there is no magic pill, and no free ride.

Hard work pays off. It doesn't have to be complex. (In fact complexity is a sure way to frustrate your efforts). It has been my experience that the people who keep it simple and simply "share their success" are the ones who see the reward, both in body transformation and life transformation.

That's why I am focusing so much of my attention promoting the concept of Play, Shake & Share, where you get results, and your journey serves as a role model to inspire people around you.

Play -- Exercise at least 20 times every 30 days

Shake -- Drink a meal replacement shake like Shakeology everyday and improve your overall nutrition.

Share -- Work at building your Beachbody business by sharing it with people. Listen and learn what stands in the way of people getting results. Help them see how Play, Shake & Share can help them succeed. (That builds your business, and keeps your eye on the ball of your own body-transformation... not so easy to dig a fist into a bag of M&M's when I'm representing that this program works.)

For me, the "Play" aspect has been a couple Ten Minute Trainer's a day and an hour walk with my baby son in the Bjorn. I drink a shake a day. For the last few months, I switched from our Beachbody Meal Replacement in order to be the primary guinea pig for our new uber-shake in development called "Shakeology". A year ago I asked our nutrition development team to formulate something that would help me get the nutrition I am missing (I cannot stand vegetables. Truly. I am like a five year old. Don't know why, just can't stomach them). So Shakeology was formulated to give me a whole food source of what I was missing and just plain give me a burst of healthy stuff in at least one meal a day. While some people will spend over $6 on a Jamba Juice or a frozen Frappa-cappuccino thing at Starbucks, I wanted a shake that I could truly consider my healthiest meal of the day even if it cost me $12 a serving. And what they came up with is remarkable. I personally believe it is why I haven't gotten sick through the last 30 days of intense newborn-sleep-deprivation. I'm "regular" like sunrise, my calorie intake is steady, and everything about my health is better. The days I don't drink Shakeology, I miss it. We're launching the clinical study/test group in a few weeks, and expect to bring the product to market in early fall.

Funny aside on Shakeology; One of the main contributors to helping create that formulation was my wife, Isabelle. She has spent her career providing nutrition, fitness, and training advice to professional athletes, big time executives, and even rock stars who need to detox when they come off the road. She's the most voracious information junkie I've ever witnessed, and highly skeptical of anything "new" unless it is based on decades or even centuries of use. (Ironic that she married me, a guy who thinks pizza is a food group) She's so disciplined about nutrition that she recently called EVERY health food store and manufacturer of baby-formula she could find on the internet to find one with no preservatives or so-called "bad stuff" to help her supplement breast milk. This went on for days, asking stock boys to read ingredient labels to her over the phone. She couldn't find any one that she liked 100%. One day we needed to supplement baby-Danny (he's a heavy drinker) with a formula, so we used the best one she found. Well, you'd think I was making him an arsenic martini. So the fact that she not only put her stamp of approval on Shakeology, but actually makes my shake for me on the weekend means this stuff is top shelf healthy.
I push play, I take my shake, and I talk to people all day long to share this opportunity.

The bottom line to all this is, if you want results, the tools are there. It's time to work for it. Work the program. You want to be lean this summer, you need to put a DVD into the machine and mash that play button 20 times every 30 days. You need to eat right. That means no skipping breakfast, and no eating too late in the day. Intake calories steadily throughout the day. A shake is great way to do that without a lot of math. And if you want to give yourself a fighting chance to stick with it this time; Share it. Surround yourself with people doing the same thing. Ignite them to get healthy! And they will keep you on track.

My goal is that Beachbody and its coaches reverse this trend of obesity, and get people to make health a priority. (That includes me.) I am convinced this is how we're going to do it. I need people around me who will support that goal with hard work and courage.

I've said I want to sign up a million coaches... I need to clarify that: The goal is not just to sign-up a million coaches -- but to get a million coaches who will help get a hundred or more people healthy -- that's over 100 million people who will find the answer and feel better. THAT'S SUCCESS.

And in the world of government health insurance initiatives, corporate wellness programs, fitness gimmicks and pharmaceuticals, all which are grasping at a magic mass-solution, who would imagine that the basic concept of combining Exercise, Good Nutrition, and Peer Support would be the answer? I would.

Play, Shake & Share.

It's going to take passion to get that message out there. It's going to take patience. And it's going to take work. If you're willing to do the work, I want you on the team. You'll get healthy. And You'll get others healthy. And we'll share the rewards.

WOWY Super Gym Traffic

Talk about a "WOWY"... 3,396 people worked out online in the Team Beachbody WOWY Super Gym yesterday, and this morning we had a peek of 234 people at 9:20 AM ET!

I remember the day we launched this application. Jon and I were on business in Florida, and I kept checking the statistics on my phone... "We have 4 people working out together." Then ten minutes later, "We have 7 people working out together!"

The only Beachbody customer complaints in those days were that people wanted a way to invite someone to join them for a workout. Within a few months, we had an invitation engine, and then we started to see this grow.

As I type this, 164 people are working out together. The record attendance stands at 522 at one time set in May of 2007, but that was a promotion. To see this kind of attendance driven by coaches and the people they support is absolutely awesome.

Today's random prize is $300, just for logging your workout live at WOWY. So keep pushing play, and I'll see you online in WOWY!

Beachbuggy... Coolest thing EVER!

I am still a kid on Christmas when it comes to some things... Check out the tricked out Beachbody errand truck, aka the "Beachbuggy"!

Heads are turning and traffic is driving just a little bit slower whenever the Beachbuggy is rolling.

I'm sure the big motivation for entering the Million Dollar Body Game is the prospect of scoring $250,000, but a year of fame on the side of this ride has got to be a cool bonus!

By the way, the next entry deadline is June 1st - a week from Sunday... So update your profile and submit your entry! There's $26,000 of cash up for grabs - 8 winners every month and qualification for the grand prize - and the chance you could be featured on the Beachbuggy!

If I were you, I would enter every month with an updated photo. You never know when your age group is going to be light on entries, so you should just keep on entering!

If you want a full life - FILL IT UP!

As I was staring at my son's face for the third-straight hour last night, it occurred to me that it's easy to leave all the enthusiasm for "a fresh start" to young people. How many of us think "it's too late to try something new," or "I'm too fat to try losing weight," or "I'm too old to get ripped?"

I can fall into the same trap too. It's a constant drill to avoid being complacent. Then I started to think about what kind of man Daniel might be, and what I need to teach him so he would know how to lead a full life.

I know I want to teach both my kids to take initiative. An interesting life doesn't just present itself to you, you have to create it. Opportunity doesn't look for you, you need to ask for it and you need to act on it. That's what makes life interesting and full!

It's so easy to read our success stories and passively watch the lives of other people on TV. When I get in that rhythm, it makes me lazy. I could watch American Idol, Survivor, and even the clips within the Million Dollar Body Game and think "Wow those people really have something special - they are really living interesting lives," and then sit back and wait for the next episode to fill my life with variety. But then they're the ones living the full life, not me!

Instead, I want my kids, Daniel and Ava, to know they need to create their opportunities, rather than just watch other people live them.

That's actually the core purpose of Product Partners, to help a person achieve their goals and lead a more healthy fulfilling life. We can create the tools - but seizing the opportunity is up to the individual.

That's the way I feel about the Coaching opportunity. Every Tuesday we do an opportunity call (see below) and at the end of the call, there's an interesting silence that invites people to either step up and change, or to sit back, hang up, and accept things as they are. I enjoy seeing how many people choose one over the other the next morning.

Seizing opportunity has been what our company is about since we took our first order 9 years ago. Everyone said we couldn't do this; "People don't like to workout that hard." Little did anyone expect that P90X would change the game in ways "experts" are still trying to figure out.

And now there's Tony's One-on-One workouts. People said "You can't follow up some of the most well-produced workouts in the catalog with down-and-dirty reality TV workouts with JUST TONY!" Oops... Based on the numbers of people signing up to be first in line, looks like people want Tony, they want him real, and real intense. (Click here to sign up to get the new One on One workout with Tony)

All this goes to show that, if you want to make something happen - make it happen. There is never a "perfect time". There is only now. There is never a perfect scenario, there is only "I want it." If you want a full life - FILL IT UP!

That's what I want to teach my kids: The purpose of life is life itself. Being an active creator of that life, with courage and enthusiasm, is the best way to show your gratitude for the opportunity to live it in the first place!

2008 -- The Summer of Support

As Memorial Day approaches, I wanted to recommend to every coach and customer that this is the year to connect to someone and make it the "Summer of Support."

Monday, May 26th is the symbolic start of summer, and for many, the beginning of a three month game of "hide your body" whenever it's time to put on shorts or a swimsuit.

Not this year.

Here's what I am going to do, and it's what I hope EVERY coach and customer does: Between today and May 26th, I am going to create a "Success Link" with two people who want to progress toward a strong, healthy body this summer, starting Tuesday May 27th through Labor Day.
My first link will be my wife Isabelle. She'll be coming back from the birth of our son (due any day now) so her journey will be gentle and gradual. I will find one more person, and the three of us will agree to keep each other accountable. We won't do the same program per se, we don't even have to work out at the same time, but we're going to check up with each other.

And I need you to do the same thing. It's as simple as thinking who you know that would LOVE to finally feel good about themselves through the summer months.
Here's something I know: You don't need to be in "after photo" shape to feel better about yourself. EVERY DAY you push play and eat right is a day you feel better about yourself. The mere action of taking care of yourself builds your self-esteem as much as the end result itself. And in the opposite, every day you succumb to a pattern that got you in the shape you're not that happy about contributes to feeling worse.

So this summer is about support -- people helping people turn the next three months into a summer to be proud of! We'll be creating a WOWY group called "2008 - Summer of Support" and I hope everyone who identifies with this concept and creates their support-threesome for summer fitness joins the group.

You just need to go for it. Your friends need you to go for it. This is the moment... when there's a little summer free time and that motivation of WANTING to feel better about yourself. Don't wait for next year. Help someone succeed this year... People helping people stay accountable, starts Tuesday May 27th through Labor Day... 2008 - the Summer of Support!

A Conversation With Scheffy

You’re going to hear a lot more about the power of Success Links this year, as the concept has caught on fire within the coach community.

Today I was describing the concept of Success Links to a friend over breakfast and she said “it’s kind of like AA sponsorship – where you’re far less likely to relapse yourself if you are accountable to helping someone else succeed.” Well put!

This year’s Top Coach contest is all about building Success Links, where every coach has an incentive to get the person they recruit to build accountability. Every time I describe it to someone I can see the “aha” moment”. Accountability – that’s what has been missing!

Our first Top Coach winner in the new format shocked us all: Jason Scheff, the lead singer of Chicago. He topped the list and has built momentum like we would have never expected from a guy who already has a full time job and who you would never expect to embrace a peer-to-peer marketing concept. Who knew cool people could dig MLM too?

In a recent exchange with Jason, I was again reminded that people who want to help people really understand the value of connecting via Success Links. That’s why Beachbody’s growth plans have the potential of such a dramatic impact – but only when coaches focus their efforts on creating Success Links.

Here’s an excerpt taken from a string of Jason’s emails. He created a whopping 12 Success Links last month, and as you will read below, the guy is excited and as passionate about helping people as he is about rock and roll!

Hey Carl,

Sorry I had to run today so quick. I am back out on the road again, (what else is new, right?) and in Tampa right now.

I'll tell you brother, it's funny that Horton was my trainer back in the day and I *was* in the best shape I'd ever been in, up until that point... but it didn't stick and you know why? No support system other than my trainer, Tony. Once I stopped hiring him it was only a matter of time before I slipped back into being a fat slob! And that isn't a good thing for someone on stage. Nothing worse than seeing a fat, middle aged rocker. As I said to you today, one of the things I really dig is how transparent I've become. I've put my life out there for fans. I had to do something DRASTIC. I had to ANNOUNCE to my fans before I'd lifted a FINGER I was going to get in shape. It's all in my blogs here on MySpace.

I really *got it* at the coaches summit. I'm sitting there thinking, "What are you keeping your mouth shut for?" You see I'm VERY careful to not go after my fans for money. I've kept my reputation and image very pure because that's my heart. So it was a bit of a hurdle to talk about what I'm doing as a coach and all that, but I got over it, OBVIOUSLY! I thought, "What good am I doing ANYBODY by keeping my mouth shut? NO ONE!"

It was in my Scheffy Show webcast that "The Scheffy Challenge" was born. I'd love to say I'm smart enough to come up with something like that but it was ALL the fans. Their idea, their PRIZE they named. It was PURE collaboration in the biggest Web 3.0 sense. EXACTLY what I've been working for. Once I launched the challenge I offered the business opportunity side of it and went through my stumbling of how to present that. I did my best by putting your videos and everything up but, in my culture, there are always naysayers and haters. You got ‘em too bro! You get big and they wanna come after you! So I've been getting the email here and there with the fan that tells me there is talk out there about this *pyramid scheme* I'm involved in. I see it as a GREAT opportunity to explain myself – That’s why I LOVE the web! Because I get to put it all out there so NO ONE can do their own P.R. smear! What great technology we have these days... I can press a button RIGHT NOW and be streaming a live broadcast/webcast and settle the score. For me, this is about helping people – by showing that I was getting myself fit first - and that’s it!

Dude, I wanted to stop eating candy on the back of the bus. I wanted my fingers to stop tingling. I have a 10 year old and a 7 year old that I wasn't playing with because I just didn't have the energy. So that's been my vision brother... I wanted to WORK for my results so it would *stick*. I am self appointing myself to be the *celeb* that finds the *right* way to do this so that it sticks – not just for me, for everybody who cares to listen.

We all know the truth... This WORKS! It's not snake oil or a scam. Since Horton was my trainer back in my FIRST heyday, haaaa, I know what his programs do and how effective they are. I just didn't have the support system back then. So I know first hand how legit this all is... I've been doing it for 10 months now! I'm not saying that the ONLY road to nirvana is *this* product... I'm saying that doing SOMETHING and attaching a supportive group of people to it is the answer. I happened to choose this one. It’s working for me. But I don’t care if people want to climb trees together and support each other from day to day – just do it and help each other!

I'm going to be touring with The Doobie Brothers this summer, just finished a Japan tour with Huey Lewis and The News... and don't think THOSE guys were ALL over me about how I look right now! Huey was flipping out...

The best part about it... it's ALL about just WORKING for it. Get in SHAPE! Everything falls into place. But a funny thing happens on the way to the office when you're doing that... the MUSE happens and the sky's the limit. Talk to you soon... your friend and brother... Jason

7,026 Inspring People

The Beachbody Revolution Has Officially Begun!

Last night Beahcbody cleared the "current coach" count of 7,000! This network of people-helping-people is expanding, and a tipping point is on the horizon. That's 7,026 people who have claimed their power to turn their weight loss into profit, to help those around them, and solve the health care crisis in this country simply by inspiring people to actually get healthier.

The motivation tools are all their to shift this into an even higher gear; The Million Dollar Body Game, the WOWY Super Gym, and the inspiration of the Team Beachbody Community. This is the beginning of something big, and the momentum is clear. A concept that started simply witnessing how an online message board of people supporting each other could achieve faster and more reliable results has started to scale into a vast community that is turning the enthusiasm for "how great it feels to feel good" into a revolutionary movement.

Thank you to every Beachbody Coach who has unleashed their creativity and courage to help us achieve this milestone!

How fast to 8,000? Keep building those Success Links, and stay tuned!
